We don’t really look at betting odds for Junior Eurovision — it’s cruel to bet on little kids like racehorses — but we still like to have a little fun and predict who may be the winner. In a year where almost all the contestants are true contenders, we can’t really name a favourite. However, we can say that we know which little singers have been viewed the most on YouTube.
We looked at this last April for the adult Eurovision and found that Armenia’s Aram MP3 was the winner with YouTube views. He fared very well in the actual contest, coming fourth. Austria, the eventual winner, also had a lot of YouTube views, only behind Aram.
Junior Eurovision 2014: YouTube Favourites
For the Junior contest, Bulgaria is in the lead, with nearly one million views on YouTube. That’s more than most of the adult contest videos had prior to their contest. Only a few, such as Aram, Donatan and Cleo, and Conchita, had more views than the itty-bitty Krisia.
In second place is the Dutch contestant Julia, who has around 900,000 views. She is in the same ranking for views as Conchita was in the spring. Julia performs last, a plumb spot in the running order for victory. Will the dots connect and lead to a Dutch victory?
Of course, there are a few problems with using YouTube as a predictor. The videos were all uploaded at different times, allowing some more time to get views. While this certainly didn’t inhibit Betty, the last to upload her video, this was a problem for Josie, who was the second-last to actually reveal her video. Croatia only has 56,000 views.

Even if Krisia deserves to, she can’t win unfortunately because of the running order.
