Poland’s rapping queen Cleo and her collaborator Donatan have been busy promoting “Hiper/Chimera”, and in the process have released a new single, “Sztorm” (Translation: “Storm”). Cleo doesn’t rap, and she has opted not to include Donatan’s heavy electronic sounds, therbey showcasing her vocals in a simple and powerful song. Do you like this new sound? Let us know below!

The music video shows a Cleo who is reluctant at first to come out of a meadow and her boat. She’s all fragile and timid. Yet throughout the rest of the song we see a more confident Cleo who is not afraid to walk on water or let her cape flow. We love seeing the vulnerability to the Polish satirist, as well as her range. This song and music video prove that Cleo & Donatan don’t need to rely on gimmicks to rack up Youtube videos or gain publicity: they just need to make music that is true to themselves.

Sztorm Lyrics (Translation) — Cleo & Donatan

In the distance range of dark clouds approaches.
Indomitable strength of the storm, I’m afraid.
We are the wave of cold words, our little boat,
Overcome fear.
No longer looking for golden mountains,
You satisfy so many dreams that float calmly into the distance.

[Chorus] I beat the storm! Once you are next (next)
You complete each other (each other)
You complete me together
[x2]

After many souls astray.
It melts sorrows alone in the depths of the waters.
You’re like my mainland
The lighthouse light leading me.

[Chorus] Only you drain the rain of my tears,
Guess sorrow when her face is smiling.
In the depths of the lurking fear, tangled order,
He wants to pull us off the bottom.
Above us the sky has many sad color
Somewhere in between is our home

[Chorus]

Let it Flow, Let it Flow!

What do y’all think? Did “Sztorm” blow you away? Or did it simply dampen your day? Please let us know in the comments below!

It’s sad, but people are so brainwashed and naive. It didn’t work last year selling out with something so cheap, and resorting to ‘trying’ to be taken seriously is not convincing. This wouldn’t stand a chance in a real music market.

Uh, okay, wow. I really like this and I love her voice. She’s wasted on stuff like “My Slowianie”. She needs to do more of this kind of music. Would never have thought she could pull off something like this.
