If you assumed Iceland 2012’s Greta Salome spent her time on a Disney cruise ship in the Caribbean lounging around in the sun drinking cocktails, you were wrong. She’s been busy arranging and performing an innovative cover of Beyonce’s “Halo” using only the power of her voice and violin. It’s unique and very special, displaying Greta’s talent better than ever before.

Talking to wiwibloggs about the track, she had this to say:

Here is a new cover I made in November when I was with Disney. The arrangement is different and has only vocals and violins in it. It’s being very well received here in Iceland and I do this in my show with Disney as well.

We’re impressed! (And a little jealous of the cruise-goers who are lucky enough to see this song performed live!)

After listening to the song, we can only hope Greta will release more tracks like this. It’s great to hear her embrace the mellow side of her voice and violin, dropping the intensity of her Eurovision song “Never Forget”. Watch out Bey – you have some competition on your hands!
