Dansk Melodi Grand Prix fans listen up: the 10 acts for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015 will be announced on January 26th.

The 10 acts will compete in a single-evening final in Aalborg on the 7th February which will be hosted by Danish broadcasters Esben Bjerre and Jacob Riising.

Melodi Grand Prix will follow a similar one-night extravaganza format in Norway.

687 songs were entered for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix this year – a drop from 2014’s high of 872. Despite almost 200-less submissions DR still seem super committed to DMGP 2015 and even announced a new logo for the national selection last year.

The Gigantium, the host venue for this year’s DMGP, last played host in 2012 when Soluna Samay won with ‘Should’ve Known Better.’ Let’s hope Denmark have learned from their mistakes this year…

DR Director of Entertainment Jan Lagermsnd Lundme has stressed that DR, “want to focus more on quality than the quantity this time.”

He’s also emphasised a desire for “real” songs in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix:

“For example, the Dutch entry this year. Here we had two people (Ilse DeLange and Waylon), who had a story to tell and as such went into peoples’ hearts. This also applied to the winner, Conchita Wurst, who in addition to an excellent pop number also had a story to tell”.

If Denmark get an entire national selection of Conchita’s and Common Linnets we might be heading back to Denmark next year y’all!
