Ida Bois is competing in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2015 with the song “Kumbaya“.The 26-year-old singer-songwriter is one of the 10 competing artists that we interviewed at the press conference. She’s a sweet woman with a sweet song. Don’t believe us? Let’s see…

Talking about her song “Kumbaya” Ida tells us that it’s kind of an ironic song about decisions to either help your own “community” or just to sing Kumbaya and wait for the world to change. Even if the lyrics of the song are ironic, the message remains very important. Ida decided to send the song to UMK as she thought it would be a nice change to send a song in Finnish to Eurovision as last time it happened was back in 2010.

Ida also admits that she has followed the contest every year and she also names Lordi’s winning entry “Hard Rock Hallelujah” as her favourite Eurovision entry ever. She also sends a message for all the wiwireaders: “Listen to the good music (maybe my music) and be a good neighbour!”
