It’s official. Following Il Volo’s victory at Sanremo last Saturday, and the subsequent confirmation that they will represent Italy at Eurovision 2015, it has just been announced that they will sing “Grande Amore” in Vienna. The news was broken on RAI’s Eurovision Facebook page this morning.

Of course the song is not yet in its final Eurovision form, as it is currently over the three minute time limit. Let’s hope they don’t cut out the good bits.

“Grande Amore” won over the televoters at Sanremo (but not the two juries). Could it charm the public once again in May? Let us know below.

basically i think that the winner this yaer is italy or estonia (if they pick goodbye to yesterday). i am from greece and from the teasers of our songs 2-3 are sure for the top 10 but aren’t something suprising so that’s the only reason that this year we’ll not see us in the top 5! i like most shaya’s song even though it reminds me a little of only teardrops.. idk

These handsome, fabulous Italians are the best singing group in the world today. Enjoyed looking at the video. It’s so creative & amusing; Gianluca as a Spider Man type of character. The sexy scene with Ignazio reminded me of the movie Ghost. Piero is also very dramatic. Never realized he was a southpaw before. To all you naysayers out there I say. You are going to be surprised.

A classical opera song with modern twist sang by good-looking boys. A lot panties will be dropping at the grand finals that’s for sure 😀

This will be the winning song assuming the remaining countries don’t surprise us with a masterpiece.

But I’m not sure it’s a winner. I think Estonia, Hungary, or even Latvia could do better depending on who they select and how good their performances are. That being said, I would be very surprised if Italy placed anywhere lower than 5th this year. I’m thinking at least 3rd, if not 2nd or 1st.

I’m listening to the studio version now and I think I understand the composition better now than the first time I heard it. That being said, I think shortening it to 3 minutes will make it a more moving song, actually. The action takes a while to unfold in the current version, almost as though the purpose was just to allow a little more time for each member of the group to sing on his own.

They should do really well, at least top 5. I think everybody’s going to vote for this one.

Italy is once again the bookies favorite to win ESC, I think they got a boost w/ Grande Amore’s confirmation. Estonia is second.

Im quite not sure how some countries are ahead of others if their song isn’t finalized or even public yet. Surprising Malta is very low despite being considerably popular w/ many polls.

We have winner, so Eurovision will be not surprising this year. It’s pity, but we will have after last year disaster great winning song (Austrian song was perfect, but the person, uhhh). And it’s great! Everyone, who understands music, love Italian entry 2015! Congrats to win!

This is EASILY going to be a red hot favourite in Eurovision 2015 in Vienna. In fact it already is. If the shortened down version is as good as what it is NOW, this could win the Eurovision Song Contest.

Know any good venues in Italy?

Thank God, this is top 5 material for sure, it’s the kind of song that does well with both the jury and the televote. If they perform during the second half of the show and have good staging, they might win.

I don’t like their song! France and Italy send songs which sounds like 70s song! This isn’t my music style! Really hope that Australia, Austria, Spain and the United Kingdom will send modern and good songs! I really hope Spain have a good song because they got a lot of hype of their artist and song! From my own country, Germany, I can expect nothing! So my Top13 is at the moment:
1.The Netherlands
2.Georgia
3.Malta
4.Serbia
5.Iceland
6.Switzerland
7.FYR Macedonia
8.Denmark
9.Belarus
10.Cyprus
11.Albania
12.France
13.Italy

Italy is my favourite this year. It’s so above all other songs. I get goosebumps every time I listen to it. If they make a good staging,it’s gonna be in top 3 without any doubt.
Quality, intense, dramatic ballad sang by male voices…god I just adore those kinds of songs.

Such divided opinions 😛 I guess is one of those songs you either hate or love. I personally love it, I’m glad they decided to keep it. So currently Italy is one of my top favorites so far.

Really hope it doesn’t! Not a fan. Though, hopefully Edurne’s song will be incredible, we need something good from the Big 5, France and Italy are woeful. Just need something magic from the UK, and Germany to pick the right song now 😀
