It’s the day of the Eurosong final, and in just a few hours we will finally know who will represent Ireland at Eurovision 2015 in Austria. The winner will be chosen during The Late Late Show, with all the action kicking off at 21:35 GMT / 22:35 CET. We’ll publish a post with the viewing links soon. But first, we need to determine the contenders.
For the last few weeks, we’ve been asking y’all to vote for your favourites in our poll. After counting 2,619 votes, we can now reveal the act you want to represent the Emerald Isle in Vienna. Topping the poll in a landslide of 1,212 votes (46.28%), Erika Selin and “Break Me Up” is clearly the readers’ choice. Fusing together country and pop, the song resembles an Avicii/Corrs mashup.
Erika Selin “Break Me Up”
Nikki Kavanagh occupies the runner-up spot. She stormed to an early lead with her power ballad “Memories”, but amidst comparisons to entries already selected by Malta and Switzerland she slipped down the leaderboard. However, she still managed to amass an impressive 718 votes (27.42%). Write her off at your peril!

The remaining three acts are well behind. After spending almost two weeks with just 35 votes, Alex Saint and “She’s So Fine” has surged up the poll to finish in third place with 327 votes (12.49%) – no comment. Molly Sterling’s “Playing With Numbers” is fourth with 229 votes (8.74%) and Kat Mahon’s “Anybody Got A Shoulder” is fifth with 133 votes (5.07%).

Molly won 🙁
Lads, listen to the revamp for Nikki Kavanagh’s song Memories. It’s BRILLIANT.
I love Nikki and Erica. But Nikki’s song was recorded in one lot, so how it sounds will practicaly be what we get. But there are some effects in Ericas song that we wont get live. SO we’ll have to wait and see
“Memories” is really strong! Gosh, if it wins, it will be the first time since 2003 when i have really liked an Irish song. It would be one of my favourites songs of this year’s Eurovision. “Break me up” sounds not very mature. Not my cup of tea.
Wtf.
How did Alex get any.
At all.
But we are underestimating the 3 least popular, they are Ireland’s kind of thing.
@Eugene ESC UK as I already said – we reached out to all the acts.
I do hope Erika Selin wins. Her song is really good and I hope she makes a great presentation of it tonight
why the heck is that horrible song in 3rd above Molly?!?!
Also Ireland won’t vote for Erika, she has absolutely no profile here and although her song is catchy it doesn’t make that impact Nikki does. Nikki would’ve won in 2011 if the high profile Jedward weren’t there. She’s the clear favourite.
@Vladimir – “highly aggressive campaign for Erika lately on WiwiBloggs” Eh no, there hasn’t! We have reached out to all acts for interviews, and so far have published ones with Erika AND Kat and Molly. We published a story about RTE’s statement regarding Erika’s nationality. There was no similar story about the other acts, therefore – no story! We published a story about Erika signing up Timoteij as backing. None of the other acts have recruited high profile backing groups, therefore – no story! All the rest of our coverage has been made up of polls and jury posts, which… Read more »
Considering the highly aggressive campaign for Erika lately on WiwiBloggs (most Irish articles are about her, while other contestants are largely ignored), I’m not surprised she’s considered the favorite to win. I hope Nikki wins.
Erika for the win 🙂 Please!
I’m with everyone who voted in the poll. It can definitely stand out from the other competing song entries so far and I also heard that Erika is bringing along Timoteij as back-up vocalists. Lets hope Ireland will be wise tonight.
I think Memories would perform best at Eurovision tbh. Break Me Up might rake in Scandinavian points and it should qualify from the Semifinal, but I don’t know if it would do well in the final.
It really does show the particular music taste of this website, that people enjoy shit music like “Break Me Up”.
I CANT BELIEVE THAT MEMORIES DON BE THE FAVORITE, I HOPE SHE WIN
Top 2 is well deserved, both songs stand out, and it’ll all depend of a live presentation. In my opinion Erika should def win, because it’ll be the dance song in a kinda ballad semi final, that will make the song stand out! And I like it more than ‘Memories’ 🙂
Greetings from Montenegro
It’s going to be one heck of a show alright! My predictions-
1st – Erika Selin
2nd – Molly Sterling
3rd – Nikki Kavanagh
4th – Kat Mahon
5th – Alex Saint and the MJ’s
Heck yeah she should win!
