The contest is complete! Montenegro have just released the audio for their Eurovision 2015 entry, therefore confirming all forty songs in the contest. Knez will be performing the song “Adio” in Vienna, written for him by ESC legend Zeljko Joksimovic.

Unsurprisingly, it has many of the same flairs as the usual Zeljko Balkan ballads. There’s a heavy focus on the instrumental sections and Knez is boosted by more backing as the song builds to its climax. In a change to the usual Zeljko format, the song moves in to something slightly more mid-tempo which is a welcome change and helps Adio stand out a bit more.

The song is entirely in Montenegrin, following Sergej Cetkovic’s lead with “Moj Svijet“. No doubt that Montenegro will likely be confident of qualifying, given Zeljko’s past history and with good confidence following Sergej’s success last year. We just won’t point out the fact that on the cover for the song, Knez looks worryingly like Axel Hirsoux…

Adio lyrics

Nebo mi te donijelo
Nebo mi te uzelo
Još me boli što je boljelo
Dani su mi zidovi
No?i su mi okovi
Još ti služim moja ljubavi

Još te ne dam maglama sa planina
Još te ne dam vodama iz dubina
A ti kažeš pusti me, živ mi bio
Zaboravu predaj me, sad adio

A ti kažeš pusti me, živ mi bio
Zaboravu predaj me, sad adio

Na,na,naj,na na….

Još te ne dam maglama sa planina
Još te ne dam vodama iz dubina
A ti kažeš pusti me, živ mi bio
Zaboravu predaj me, sad adio

Nothing original. Very old school. It will have difficulties to qualify.

I am from the Balkans and I believe this is such a Zeljko copy paste song ….. How can anyone still like the same thing in 2004, 2012 and now in 2015 in beyond me ….. Nothing fresh, and when someone says quality isn’t it a bit odd that he continues making the same song over and over and people make it out to be quality ……. It is always the first and best version that is the quality one “Lane Moje” now this is getting ridiculous !!!!!

Another great Zeljko composition for the contest! Go Montenegro!!!!

Excellent! This is a similar style as Italy, but even better. It’s a nice combination of a neo-classical style and ethnic pop. The last 30 seconds of the song is one of the highlights of this year’s ESC. If they use that portion for the semi-final recap, this song will make the final easily.

This is probably in my Top 5. I’m still deciding exactly how to rank it.

I like it, it ends a bit abruptly, but it’s very good. It would be great if this qualified and Serbia with their horrible english lyrics didn’t.

They’ll reach the final for sure, but they won’t get a high place in the final.

Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Serbia, Hungary and slovenia will give each other a few points i guess. From all these countries Montenegro, Albania and Slovenia have the best entries, while Romania, Greece and Hungary are a little dissapointing. I just hope that every country has the same chanches in Eurovision, cause we all know if a country like Russia will sent ”One thing i should’ve done (Cyprus 2015)” they will still qualify while Cyprus won’t this year. Goodluck Montenegro!

Meh. It’s satisfactory. I do hope this qualifies but doesn’t have the same result as Nije Ljubav Stvar.

Love it! Exactly what I was expecting 🙂 Yes, it’s very typical from Zeljko… but I’m not complaining because I love everything from him. So now we have the 40 songs and I’m glad to say I like this last one.

Yes we have heard it all before, but it s different than everything else this year and Zeljko knows how to write a touching song – unlike Montenegro’s effort last year which absolutely did not deserve its very marginal qualification to the final.

This will stay in semi. This year unpopular and weak countries has good entries. 13 songs is a big number of non-qualifiers this year, because in other years most of song could pass semi. I think this is strong year and countries like Montenegro, Macedonia, San Marino, Portugal, Cyprus, Moldova will not qualify. They are the weakest this year.

Not as strong as Zeljko’s previous songs, nije ljubav stvar was miles better. Don’t think this will get to final

Oh no please… it’s the same Zeljko song all over again. It’s the same as his previous entries only that I sounds a bit weaker to me.

After 39 songs (and some controversy over a few artists), we finally get Montenegro’s song. It will really stand out because not only it’s a beautiful Balkan ballad, but it’s not in English.

Will it win? Probably not. But it should make the final and get plenty of votes from its neighbors. 🙂

This song feels a little overwrought, but I still like it. I do find the chorus a bit odd.

Overall, this is a good song and one of the better entries this year, but it’s not a patch on Lejla.

In contrast to the homophobic allegations against Sweden’s singer Mans, I came across this regarding Australia’s Guy Sebastian which was nice:

@Eugene ESC UK, who said they couldn’t make the deadline? Just because it’s only just been released doesn’t mean they didn’t submit to the EBU on time.

The song’s nice. Moj Svijet very much grew on me, especially after the wonderful performance. Perhaps it will be the same for me with Adio

it is an OK song, good as all Zeljko’s songs, but I’m pretty sure this will have difficulties to qualify because Slovenia is the only ex-Yugoslavian country in SF2 and in SF2 we have stronger ballads like Latvia’s Love Injected or Norway’s A Monster like me

This year has become ridiculously amazing. The most musical contest for years!! Another amazing Balkan ballad from Zelijko, a killer song.

I think the contest this year will be crazy and unpredictable. The quality of many songs is phenomenal and It’s just too hard to decide on favorites. By now I have about 10 😉

Thank you Common Linnets, and good luck Montenegro!

Balkan ballads composed by Zelijko always do well abd esc and no doubt this will get most of the points from the balkan nations. We might see a similar situation as in 2012 sweden winning by a landslide and a top 3 for a balkan ballad
