We were heartbroken when we found out Edurne would have to pull out from Eurovision in Concert this month in Amsterdam. Although due to complications Edurne won’t be in Amsterdam, she will debut ‘Amanecer’ live for the first time at TVE’s late night show Alaska & Segura.
TVE reports she’ll have the chance to show off her live singing skills on the show, hosted by film director Santiago Segura and celebrated 80s singer and actress Alaska.
You’ll be waiting past the hour of the wolves (hey Elnur!) to see her though. The show starts at 23:50 (CET) but Edurne won’t be breaking dawn live on stage until 01:05am.
The show shall begin at 23:50 (CET) although Edurne’s performance is scheduled at 01:05 a.m.
It is unclear which version of ‘Amanecer’ Edurne will perform live, with TVE last month announcing that Edurne had recorded a symphonic version of ‘Amanecer’ with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra. Songwriter Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson tweeted that the original songwriting team, including Thomas G:Son and Peter Böstrom, will not be responsible for the final version of the song.
Edurne herself at the time commented, “With the orchestra the songs grows, it becomes even more epic, more intense.”
We’re not sure we can handle even more heat in ‘Amanecer’.

Edurne will perform ‘Amanecer’ live during the Grand Final of the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna on the 23rd of May.

This song is understandably very Iberian, Moorish and Andalusian…but that takes it way out of the mainstream necessary for a winning Eurovision formula unfortunately. It has its followers, but it see it ending up 8th to 10th at best on the night…….
This had a great chance of winning judging studio version…but live….no a cats in hells chance! Just didnt work and her vocals were not good enough in a small studio never mind on the Eurovision stage!

I have Spain in my Top 3. The song is not the greatest, but it’s still way better than Rise like a Phoenix IMO, and I think that Edurne is such a great singer, she will do a great performance in Vienna, for sure

Hopefully she will blow all the critics away with her live performance, the spanish press is so harsh on her, they’re already calling her a failure because she dropped a bit on the betting odds.
I love Edurne as a singer, but I hate her song. I unfortunately hope she won’t do well either because to me her song IS SOOOO BAD! Sorry, just how I feel. But good luck anyway Spain.
Edurne stated on an interview it was gonna be a hybrid, but also said we shouldn’t expect many changes. She said she thinks a purely symphonic version wouldn’t be appropriate for ESC.
