Malta’s “Warrior” Amber just keeps on fighting. During her promotional tour she visisted Moscow to attend the Eurovision Gala Concert where she caught up with Jamilya from wiwibloggs. Amber says she likes the city a lot, and had the chance to pray in one of its beautiful churches. (She’ll have to tell her former Eurovision rivals the Ekklesia Sisters all about it). Amber took on the song partly because she knew that many people would relate to its message, which reminds listeners of the strength they can find through adversity. She doesn’t reveal any details of her staging, but we get the sense she’ll be standing alone on stage. If only she could bring a 57-piece live orchestra. The symphonic re-mastering of her song is just fabulous!

Anyone has an idea why Malta is penultimate in the odds to win Eurovision?

I just want something to break, during the performance.

@Africa-Vision: LMAO. That would be some awesome staging.

With regards to Amber’s staging, I feel that she should do something similar to the video for ‘Warrior’. Basically, she should sit on a chair in the middle of the stage, a chandelier above her, and the background should be similar to that used in Dilara’s ‘Start a Fire’ from last year (i.e. the sort of church windows vibe). After the first verse, she should stand up. At the point, just before the climax of the song, the windows should shatter and the chandelier should fall and break just in front of her. Amber should fall simultaneously with the chandelier… Read more »

I think that with the right staging, the beautiful small island of Malta can be in the top 5. However the system of voting is what it is. It could be nice if Malta wins and hosts the contest next year. Iit would also be economically cheaper for esc fans to enjoy the show in Malta. There is a lot to see both historically and cultural, besides the fact that the island has beautiful weather nearly all year round.
