That said, Leonor seemed more confident on stage today and she hit all of her camera angles. Something about the performance felt brighter — perhaps it’s the fact Leonore was more self-assured — and her costume remains a highlight of this semi-final. It’s difficult to fault her vocally — her voice is so soft and delicate and lovely. But perhaps that’s the problem. The song begins with a hint of rock. Leonor has a strong rock diva look. But then she sings a lullaby. It just doesn’t fit together.
Hello, I’m from Portugal and i was pleased to read some posts and to know that many people enjoyed the song. I was quite surprised that we were not qualified 🙂 In fact, i think the song brings something new and mixs some styles like a bit of Rock and some Fado, which makes it interesting… I think the song is difficult and her voice is not so strong, but she improved a lot and sounded very good. Hey adam. You seem to be a quite intelligent guy and I most of the times I love your comments about the contestants and all the sass you have when you’re conducting interviews and such. Sadly, this time, I can’t agree with you. I sense the way you have presented the portuguese entry was a bit biased. Good effort, I LOVE Leonor’s look and overall the performance looks a lot more polished. However the main problem is still there: the music still sucks.
This is the only song that nobody ”hates”. I want to see Portugal in the final or even winning it, but still… they have to send much better songs to eurovision. They’ve already shown us that they have some amazing singers and i love Leonor’s voice it does remind me a little bit of Anggun! She tries everything with her song, but ye… its the song :/
The full rehearsal video is much better than I expected. She sings well, the background flows nicely with the song and even the outfit doesn’t look half as bad as I thought!
She will probably not be in the final but like Suzy last year she is fighting it!

She is singing the song a lot better and more in tune than I have heard from her previously. I like the staging. It feels like they are making a lot of effort with it. Maybe they should have made a bit more effort when choosing her song?

Go Leonor! This 2nd rehearsal was so much better! What happened? Also i think it was her best perfomance of the song. Let’s take Portugal to the final !

WILLIAM LEE ADAMS, do you understand about music? this is a new concept, mixing electronic Rock, R&B and also Fado, thats why the vocals are like that, and it is amazing, because it´s new and fresh, don´t be a tendencious stupid, because you said that this girl looks like a bat and then the geogian girl with alike clothes, you say it is beautiful, and that kid, doesn´t make any sense at all!!
I wish this performance would look a little bit more warm, I think it would be better if they used warmer colours.
