Fresh from his recent Melfest stint, Eric Saade is back doing what he does best – brash, throw-away, pop-bangers. And we say halleloo! Because it ain’t summer until Saade sings.
Carrying on in the tradition of “Boomerang” and “Take A Ride”, “Girl From Sweden” is a wonderful dollop of breezy fun. And it’s unmistakably Saade. For who else could pull off the feat of boasting that “a lot of girls wanna get down with me” on his globetrotting adventures, yet everything is alright since he’s got a special girl from Sweden? Her identity remains a mystery, as the music video is populated with numerous Swedish women, including three comely maidens in a field. You gotta admire his bravado.

It’s also nice to see that his fondness for brass remains, and the whistling riff only adds to the enjoyment. Sadly though, this is lacking… well the sting of “Sting”. Whereas the latter whacked you squarely between the ears, “Girl From Sweden” is so light it might just float off. But then we can’t expect to over-indulge on pop perfection everytime. And we’ll never say no to our guy from Sweden.

Got to say I applaud that there are real swedish girls in this video. Not just some blonde half naked supermodels. I applaud Saade for showing the real beauty of the swedish landscape and multiculturalism.

Dude, this song is awful. Eric can do much better, even “Coming Home” was better. And of course “Sting” or “Popular” or “Manboy”… We all know he is a bubblegum-trashy-pop, but man…

@ Yes…*Sting* 4 me was from the better good songs in Melodifestivalen as well…I must had it in my top10 most liked songs overall among the 28.. So thats what we are talking about… If we compare not only the songs of Melodifestivalen but ALL the hundreds songs in all the NFs on this season *Sting* certainly aws NOT the #1 best song.. In Dusseldorf’s Vision he only lost in final’s televoting for just 2 points.. That was oooch indeed… But for a big hot favorite 4 the victory like he was supposed to be he did badly in the juries finishng just 10th.. Of course he did much worse than Il Volo of Italy did..At least them were able to earn 171 points compared with his 106 points.. At least Azerbaijan’s song faired much better in both televoting & juries although lost to Italy with big gap of points.. *Running Scared* might was not winning material song but was just wonderful song…Eldar’s… Read more »

For me, Sting was my seventh favourite song in Melfest, but my fourth favourite in the final (behind Mariette, Dinah and Linus) because Ellen, Molly and 1by1 all went out early :/
It sounds a little bit like “#fail” by Oscar Zia, but this song is still good.

It’s actually pretty kool catchy song. A bit messy but kool overall.
I won’t even bother listening to his song because i just dislike him heavily..
