Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw may have won Eurovision 2015 in a landslide, but when it comes to having the best live vocals, our readers believe that Italy’s Gianluca Ginoble is top dog.
Back on May 5 we asked our readers to vote in our poll for the best male vocalist of Eurovision 2015. We received a total of 9,978 votes. Gianluca earned an impressive 2,188 of them (around 22%), putting him just ahead of fellow Italians Ignazio Boschetto (1,875 votes) and Piero Barone (1,871 votes). Yes, Il Volo went 1-2-3.
Azerbaijan’s Elnur Huseynov, who bewitched audiences with his song “Hour of the Wolf”, came fourth with 859 votes.
Belgium’s Loïc Nottet cracked the Top 5 at Eurovision — and he’s done it again here. He earned 399 votes to finish ahead of Sweden’s Mans Zelmerlow and Australia’s Guy Sebastian.

If we’re talking about voice texture here, I agree that Gianluca has the most pleasant voice. But if we’re talking about singing technique/live performance ability, Piero is definitely way better than his Il Volo friends. Piero is the most listenable in the performance, definitely. Gianluca’s performance is actually the one that made me not impressed with Il Volo’s performance in the final because he barely hit the right notes in the song’s chorus. For me definitely Gianluca has the best voice maybe because of his unique baritone voice (among il volo I know being baritone is not that rare but even in real life I have literally seen no baritones) or maybe because he can also sing pop and performs well (sadly cannot say the same for Piero) And some people are bitter thinking Gianluca only became first for his looks.Jesus guys don’t be that jealous. 1st. spinto tenor Piero Barone was the best singer. He has an operatic voice on level with Domingo. 2 nd Ignazio Boschetto, a lyric tenor, who hits high, high notes as a matter of course & could with training be another Juan Diego Flores. 3rd Gianluca Ginoble, a lyric baritone,with a fabulous voice.
The poll is right. The three guys from Il Volo were amazing. Such power. Elnur is a worthy fourth.

For me it’s Piero too… His voice is so deep and way different… But i can also say that all three boys has original voices… Piero has so operatic voice, he was born to be opera singer.. but he cant sing pop songs. I heard him singing Little Things by One Direction, and he wasnt that good. Gianluca is the youngest one, so that’s probably reason why everybody love him. omg people. well guys you know taste differs. Well Pier has for sure the most let’s say technically correct voice, probably cause he is the oldest of them and cause as Ignazio said Piero has the most operatic voice and wants to learn how to sing opera. However as a voice I think Gianluca has the most pleasing one. He sounds so peaceful and warm. Also these guys has a huge career behind them and the are only 20-22. Some voices can’t be compared in my opinion. When an operasinger sing a popsong it really sounds terrible. And the opposite way around. Both requires different techniques.
Totally agree, their voices were nearly impeccable in the final! Another reason I say the corrupt, colluding, inept juries cheated them in ESC 2015! #heavethejuries
Il Volo are amazing! I think that was well deserved. However, I’d put Piero first, and I’d also put Guy Sebastian higher on this list because I think his vocals are incredible but yeah, in my opinion Il Volo slayed in the ESC final. <3
I think are funny some comments that whom voted in Gianluca were only by his good looking as if people do not have good sense. Although he is the prettiest of the group, his voice is loved by thousands of people, not everyone likes the tenor voices, the singers who make more success these days have no such high notes that they do. (I think only who likes opera) I prefer the romantic, velvety and warm baritone´s voice of Gianluca, he can sing all kind of music, than the other two tenors with their high notes. @Daniel: I hope you realize you lost your credibility, regarding all your comments on this site! It’s perfectly fine if Il Volo’s type of music is not to your liking, but to say that they sound ‘AWFUL’ together is just gratuitous and mean!
Piero Barone was the best of the Il Vovos, but I agree that Vaclav Noid Barta was the best. His voice boomed through even while rehearsing via a live stream feed to my living room in Surrey.

Totally agree with the winner. Gianluca was the best singer in years of Esc.
But Piero is a better singer than Ignazio.
Also, Elnur shouldn’t be so high on this list. His voice wasn’t in the best days, and their backing vocalists and dancers ruined his performance.
Loïc was great, “Rhythm Inside” is a really hard song to sing.
Knez, Dodo Muhrer, Michele Perniola and John Karayannis have great voices. Dodo and John showed to us that you don’t need to scream to show that you are a good singer.
I also liked the guys from Armenia, and Vaidas.
Piero was the bestia, Ignazio sounded npt right, Vaclav was also very good.

This poll is all kinds of right…
ll Volo has always said that it was their three voices, in harmony, that made them strong. I’m afraid, there are people out there who don’t appreciate trained and beautiful voices. I think the youth, whatever country they live in, settle for who is popular at the time. In the last 6 years, ll Volo has continually captured many countries with their beautiful voices. There was not one Eurovision precipitant, who has had the success as ll Volo.
And Mørland too sorry..
How? Il volo sound AWFUL together and then still aren’t so strong vocally. Loïc and Václav were the best male singers. Václav was especially good because he had his husky tone that was still gentle. And don’t even get me started on Elnur…..
Piero Barone was the best by farrrr…i think people voted for gianluca for his appearance,not his voice!

I don’t think Gianluca really won because of his voice, I think Guy, Vaclav and Mans were better.
Piero and Vaclav had the best vocals, BY FAR, but, ugh, they’re not ultra handsome, so… let’s ditch them, rite? Gosh.
Vaclav is robbed in this poll. Whether or not you love the song as much as I do, there’s no denying his incredible voice.
