Not every Eurovision party has to take place before Eurovision! Berlin’s fourth annual Eurovision Weekend, a three-day summer party with select guest performers, returns on July 17. The main event is the Grand Gala on the evening of the 18th.

For each year’s Eurovision Weekend, the Berlin Eurovision fan group collaborates with a different country’s OGAE chapter. The concert always features one past German representative — this year it’s nul-pointer Ann Sophie (2015) — and at least one of the past representatives from the guest country.

This year’s guest chapter is OGAE Denmark. The Danes will bring drag queen DQ (2007) and vintage three-time competitor Kirsten Siggard of the duo Hot Eyes (1984, 1985, 1988).

Berlin Eurovision Weekend 2015 Programme

Friday night: Welcome Party with ESC karaoke and disco

Saturday: Sightseeing tours offered by the Berlin fangroup

Saturday night: Grand Gala – “Fans sing for fans Contest” (ESC fans perform Eurovision songs, with voting) + concert with Kirsten Siggaard, Ann Sophie and DQ. Afterwards the party continues on the Eurovision dancefloor

Sunday: Danish-German brunch with Eurovision Quiz

Past Participants

In 2012, the first edition of Eurovision Weekend, OGAE Finland brought Pernilla Karlsson (2012) to perform alongside German artist Ingrid Peters (1986) and the first winner of Eurovision, Switzerland’s Lys Assia (1956).

In 2013, OGAE Israel brought Liora (1995). Lou (Germany 2003) and Betty Dittrich (Germany 2013 national final) from Germany also were in attendance.

Last year, OGAE UK sent Scott Fitzgerald (1988) to Berlin. Corinna May (2002) was the German performer at that year’s Eurovision Weekend, and Portugal’s Suzy (2014) also appeared.

The setlist at Eurovision Weekend looks great to us! Are you excited?

Nice to see that Ann Sophie doesn’t have any hard feelings towards Eurovisin, she really dsidn’t deserve 0 points but she was totally ignored!
Has she given any interviews since?
