Loïc Nottet may have come fourth at Eurovision with his song “Rhythm Inside”, but that hasn’t stopped him from achieving gold certification in Belgium. On July 1 his record label Sony Music presented him with his golden record during a live segment on NRJ radio. That means he has sold more than 10,000 copies of his song in Belgium.

It’s a great feat, if not a totally surprising one. As we previously reported, he made a huge splash on the internaitonal iTunes charts, reaching #1 in Belgium, #2 in the Netherlands, Austria, Luxembourg and Denmark, and #3 in Armenia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Kazakhstan. He also made the Top 10 in 11 other countries. Loïc was one of just three Eurovision artists to crack the UK Top 100, coming in at #69.

Before Eurovision

Ahead of Eurovision, Loïc also placed fourth with the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of musical unprofessionals. Here’s how one of our jurors reacted to his song on first listen.

Prepare for an aural orgasm! The song, the singer – all perfect. From the moment I heard the 30-second teaser I was captivated. Lyrically sophisticated, musically daring, and filled with lush vocals – “Rhythm Inside” has it all. I wanna rap-pap-pap all night. Love, love, love! (I’ll cry if Belgian TV ruin this with crappy staging).

“Rhythm Inside” is a brilliant song. We are so lucky that Loic brought it to Eurovision. He is a class act. I hope he has much more success.

Was truly phenomenal year 4 Belgium! The belgians followed the dutch & austrians with rising like phoenix & ruling on this Vision.. They surpassed the 200 points & that is huge achievement 4 a country like Belgium..! They lived again the glorious old days of *Sanomi* that almost won in the Vision of Latvia back in 2003 <3 If the point system were counted like 9-10 instead of 10-12 then Belgium was the real deserved winner in 2003 with a margin of just 1 point! Its really pity that Belgium was not crowned winner back then when really WON the… Read more »

He would have been a great winner, much better than Heroes and A Million Voices.

His song stayed at #1 on Belgian ITunes for weeks after the firsti semifinal. It’s #1 on radio and singles chart. I believe it will go Platinum by the end of year.

He has to record a new album as soon as possible and capitalise on the Eurovision success. It will difficult to top his success next year so belgium better not screw up.

Well congratulations to this hot belgian baby hunk <3 His song was really sucesful both on eurovision & charts in Europe at least on the special standards 4 our EuroVision.. I do not expect the songs of ESC to sell like crazy & meet the same big success that the other super stars do…It is expected.. His song might went only to #69 in UK charts but it was the 2nd most succesful song there in the country after the winner *Heroes* that peaked on #11 So its really big deal that he managed to enter the top100 in UK..… Read more »
