Last year Bulgaria’s Krisia — and her piano sidekicks Hasan & Ibrahim — finished as runners-up at Junior Eurovision. They served fierce vocals, amazing music, and a fairy-tale backdrop that left kiddies and adults in awe. Now Bulgarian National Television is ready to do it again, all in the hope of moving from second to first.

Today BNT announced that, as in 2014, it will partner with the private chanel bTv. It will select its contestant through a national selection on “Slavi Show”. Children aged between 10 and 15 who are interested in competing can send an audio or video recording of themselves performing to the show’s producers between now and July 23 (e-mail: [email protected]).

A group of music professionals will then wade through the submissions to identify the top talent. The lucky few will then sing to the death (okay, just sing) in a national final on Slavi Show. The result will be determined 100% by Internet voting — so no jury.

“We proved how successful a partnership between the public Bulgarian National Television and the private bTV can be when there is a national cause, such as Bulgaria’s participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014,” said BNT’s Director General Viara Ankova. “Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim are the main reason we are hosting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria this year.”

Bulgaria at Junior Eurovision 2014

Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim brought Bulgaria back to Eurovision with a bang. Despite finishing second overall, Bulgaria actually won the televote by a huge margin.

Our readers awarded them two Wiwi Junior Awards: Most Likely to Succeed Commercially and Best Dressed.

Will be interesting to see if Bulgarians will manage to win in home soil… If they do not only will mark their first victory in Junior Vision but will become the first host country that will have won in home soil 🙂 On the past Junior EuroVisions we hardly almost did not have the host country finishing as 2nd/runner up…Except once that the host Ukraine managed to succeed this achievement in the Junior Vision of 2013 & was behind the eventual winner Malta for a margin of just 9 points only.. To see Bulgaria winning in November is most likely… Read more »

Actually they are dedicated to it as well. Even without taking part BNT broadcasted the show from Vienna and held an online voting for their viewers. With Junior Eurovision they managed to find the right formula of a successful participation.

Big Shame On The Corrupted Jury of San Marino!

I remember that Armenia was all the time 2nd during the voting & at the very end Bulgaria came ahead & stole the 2nd spot just 4 a single one point..!

Bulgarians did great & received many points by almost all the countries except one that was San Marino that gave them zero 0 none points at all…Typical..
San Marino tends to vote tactically the latest years in the Vision..
Emmelie De Forest & Conchita Wurst received zero 0 points from San Marino!
Shame on the pathetic jury from San Marino..!

Funny thing – Italy (ESC 2015) & Bulgaria (JESC 2014) are the ones that are constantly mentioned as true winners. The actual winners of the both shows (the jury ones) are having a bittersweet taste, aren’t they? 🙂

I think they will return this year and the reason they became this dedicated is because they are the hosts and their goodresults from last year. the interest in the adult vision will probably start growing now or i hope so…

Why can’t they take part in Eurovision as well?

Anyway, Bulgaria should have won last year. The irony though. italy won the jury voting but not the televoting in junior contest and the opposite thing happened in adult’s Eurovision with Il Volo.

I don’t get why juries did not give the first place to Bulgaria…
