Summer is well under way in Croatia. But the season wouldn’t be complete without an upbeat hit from Severina – the country’s Eurovision 2006 singer. So without further ado – “Calimero”!
Admittedly, we’re a little disappointed that there’s no sign of the cute little black duckling from the Italian/Japanese cartoon (which was actually the inspiration behind the song title), but thankfully the music video is silly enough without him.
The clip shows Severina returning to the single life. She’s no longer in a love “coma” and wants to share her rumba moves with us. #YOLO

Shortly after the song’s premiere, Severina revealed a few more tidbits about Calimero on her Instagram page :
I was afraid of lions on making of the video, because they were so dreadful, and mariachi were playing pretty badly. All in all, this song is the most unusual I have ever done, an average childish turbo-folk that will achieve an above average viewership.
“Calimero” is supposed to be a follow-up to her biggest hit – “Brad Pitt” – which was included on The Hollywood Reoporter’s 2011 list of Europe’s best songs.

@ Well expected really.. I was 20 years old when Severina took part in the Vision of 2006 and now this May of 2016 i’m gonna be 30(!) years old! Well Severina is GreAtY star in her country Croatia as i was informed 🙂
21 participations & still no victory 4 Croatians.. They have hit the top10 six times.. They have hit the top5 three times.. All these top5 placings were achieved in 90s & early 00s.. Croatia debuted in our Vision in 1993.. That EuroVision took place in my birthday <3 🙂 Croatia last took part in the Vision of Malmo in 2013..
