Eurovision 2015 may have ended in May, but we at wiwibloggs are still feeling the Eurovision fire and desire. With sixty years worth of quality artists in the back catalogue, we’ve decided to rewind and give some love to the stars of yesteryear. Among our favourites is Denmark’s Tomas Thordarson who represented Denmark in 2004 with “Shame On You”. He took a break from his morning run in Copenhagen this summer to chat with wiwiblogger Deban Aderemi. Eleven years on, Tomas has shaved off his curly red locks, but he still looks good!
Among other things, he introduces us to his playful dog Polo 1, talks about his Latin influences (think Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan), and talks about why he loves singing lead vocals for the Latin showband Latin Fever. The man is used to performing with groups: He’s been a member of Chocolate City, Shake, and Guraffe to name a few.
He also talks about not qualifying at the Eurovision Song Contest, and says he empathises with Anti-Social Media, the Danish band that failed to advance in 2015. He also touches on his attempts to represent Iceland in 2005. Enjoy!
@Mario
If Tomas was *too old* in 2004, does that mean you will be *too old* next year as well?
Back in 2004 he was already too old…30 years old..
I was 18 years old..
Now he is 41 years old…
If he manages to go to the Vision next year he will be 42 years old..
I’m gonna be 30 next year…So i will have the same age that he had when he took part in the Vision of 2004 11 years ago 4 the record..
Yeah indeed…His song was not bad at all…
But when he had really tough competition in the semifinal with having too many songs in the bunch like 22 & only 10 of them getting qualified it makes perfect sense about WHY he did not qualify to the final..
Well his 13th place beating other 9 countries was still successful..
Well he has gotent too old now & he doesn’t seem that young anymore though..
Its too random 4 him to want to go to EuroVision AGAIN when he is not a popular visionary act anyway..
But whatever..
he had a strong song but a super weak stage show……truth
