Armenia has today confirmed to eurovision.tv that it will be present at Eurovision 2016. It will reveal its artist on October 13 at 17:15 CET on the “Profession of a Journalist” TV show. But we already know the gender: It’s a girl!
Yes, the land of apricot stones and ladies who go boom boom is back in the game and they’re fielding a female starlet. As with Genealogy last year, they’ve released a tantilizing trailer to whet your appetites. Check out the hips on this one!
In recent days wiwibloggs has been obsessed with two ladies: Iveta Mukuchyan and Athena Manoukian. Head of Delegation Gohar Gasparyan has already come out and denied rumours about Iveta. But we’re still hopeful Athena is that mysterious woman in the trailer.
In an interview with armenpress.am, Athena, who tried to represent Greece at JESC 2008, made it clear she’d love the gig. “It would be an honor for me to represent Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest”, she said, adding that she’d love to reconnect with her Armenian roots.
Naturally we’d also be keen to see our 2015 favourite Tamar Kaprelian in the mix. But the rumour mill has sadly gone cold in recent weeks.

The skinny body and big hair definitely looks like Lilit to me and I think it’s a great choice 🙂
I just hope they’ll find the right styling for her, I’m not always a fan of her super heavy makeup and big hair
Well now we have at least 5 women competing.
Sweden, Azerbaijan and Italy always send females in even years like 2016. And Ukraine always send a lady regardless of the year.

Armenia denied rumours about Iveta, but the Netherlands denied rumours about Douwe Bob and look at what we know now.
The female entrant in question could either be: 1. Sirusho – the way the woman in the video carries herself reminds me of Sirusho though the woman in the vid looks taller than her so this is a 50/50 2. I love how Armenia can make anything dramatic. The message of this video essentially amounts to “SOME INTERN AT THE ARMENIAN BROADCASTER FILLED OUT PAPERWORK,” but you wouldn’t know that just by watching.
That’s definitely either Lilit or Iveta. I’m leaning more towards Iveta because frame wise that looks more like her but still it could be Lilit. Both are amaze!

I’m starting to suspect Armenia pays a lot of money to EBU to get their videos featured. it’s like their sponsored or something.
Other countries chose their artist quietly without any buzz and barely gets featured videos/articles about them. The Netherlands just announced their performer. Was there a big deal made of it?
But with Armenia it’s all drama for nothing. From how they chose their artist to how that artist relaxes before going on stage. The songs aren’t even worth all the drama, they stink.
I wish other countries could be this dramatic about everything concerning the process

Altho it confirms the gender at least its a better mystery then last years one for Azerbaijan which stated the angel was back as if no one would guess who the artist was going to be lol.

Genealogy was a great idea but was TERRIBLE. The worst for me of 2015. Actually, Armenia is not a favourable country in Eurovision for me. Awful song or awful singers. Hopefully 2016 will be a year I like them! And by the looks of it, I think I will.
