Turn up the volume and let’s get ready to rock! Today BNT has announced that Poli Genova — our favourite rocker chick from Eurovision 2011 — will host Junior Eurovision 2015 in Bulgaria.
As you’ll recall, Poli placed 12th back in Düsseldorf with her song “Na Inat” , narrowly missing the grand final. But since then her career has moved in one direction: up! She released her debut album later that year, producing a series of hits including “1, 2, 3”, and served as a judge on the first series of X Factor.
“I am really happy that Bulgaria is hosting the most prestigious song contest for young artists in Europe and that BNT decided that I am the right person to host it,” she said in a statement. “I can’t wait to discover this event and I am sure it will be unforgetable! Let’s support the young artists together because they are our future.”
Poli had to endure a series of castings over the summer. This wasn’t handed to her — she earned it!

What happened to Nina Dobrev?
Prior to today’s announcement, rumours centered on Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev. Bulgarian media reported that she was in negotiations with BNT and she was spotted visiting Sofia earlier in the year. Yesterday, when we asked our readers who they thought BNT would reveal as the JESC 2015 host, Nina still dominated the comments. Oh well, Perhaps the Hollywood starlet was too expensive!
Are you excited to see Poli host? Do you think this will pave the way for her to sing at Eurovision 2016, should Bulgaria choose to compete? Let us know in the comments box below!
I think she is a great choice! 😉
na inat was great, one of the first songs that got me into Eurovision!
so happy to hear that poli genova’s hosting
Na Inat is one of my all time favorite Eurovision songs! She was amazing! Broke my heart seeing her getting eliminated during the semi 🙁
You people are worse than a low-class tabloid! Nina Dobrev WAS NEVER an option to host this. You spread idiotic rumours taken from some of the dumbest papers in Bulgaria and then you develop those idiotic rumours! Pathetic!
Yay!
Such a nice surprise! I didn’t see this coming, she was one of my top favourites in 2011, so glad to have her back in something eurovision-related.
So they’re going with the 1-host route? Im ok with that.
Bulgaria 2011 was definitely underrated.
Poli Genova to host reduplicates the thing happened in 1976 when Cory Brokken hosts in The Hague. But Nina Dobrev to host JESC in Bulgaria is what her dream and I think if Bulgaria hosts again, she will definitely host.
This is a good compensation present for her not winning in 2011
I imagine how it would be amazing if Nina host the contest. BUT I think this girl can do it very good
No vampires, it sounds amazing :33
Awesome!
Fantastic choice! She deserved to qualify in Düsseldorf but this makes up for it!
And I’m glad you resisted Using “y’all” in this article! Pat yourself on the back!
Finally a confirmation. She was so underrated in 2011… I didn’t expect her.
