Last night during the Junior Eurovision 2015 jury final, musical professionals across Europe cast their votes for who should win. But you guys have been expressing yourselves for a lot longer in our poll “Who should win Junior Eurovision 2015?”. We opened the voting lines on November 9 and now, after counting 6,331 votes, we can reveal the full results. We’re not predicting the winner with this, but just giving you an indicator of who our readers are living and loving…

1. Georgia’s The Virus

The Georgian quartet — who also won our poll for best first rehearsal on November 16 — have been bringing their A-game all week. They won our poll in a landslide with 1,780 votes, or around 28% of all those cast. In our interview after their second rehearsal they gave us major energy. It’s the same quality that helps them shine on stage, along with some funky harmonies and the comedic timing of Data. As he says in the show, “Get crazy!”

2. Malta’s Destiny Chukunyere

Aretha Franklin may be the Queen of Soul, but she’s got a princess hot on her tails in Malta! Destiny — perhaps the favourite of the press corps — finished second in our poll with 743 votes (or around 12% of all those cast). We’re pretty sure she won the jury final — see our review of the show here — and victory is definitly within her sights.

3. Russia’s Mikhail Smirnov

Russia’s Misha came third in our poll with 715 votes, or around 11% of all those cast. All week he’s been serving Dima Bilan realness and has consistently delivered his tender message with charisma and pitch perfect vocals. The song is dreamy but it burns with passion — a difficult balance to strike.

Georgia won!? They had the worst rehearsal, no doubt. At least tonight you can’t vote for your own country.

If you take out the usual Georgia bias, this is a very reasonable list. Would change Slovenia with Urkraine though.

I think the potential winners are: SLOVENIA, Malta, Australia, Russia, Armenia, Belarus or Ukraine. Serbia and San Marino I think (and hope) that they will do well. I also think Italy will come last.
