It’s been six months since Vienna, but there’s no sign of Nadav Guedj’s party stopping any time soon. After “Good Vibes” and “Summer Together”, our favourite Israeli “Golden Boy” delivers yet another dance floor stomper. One could almost leap for joy, or rather “Jump”!

The Eurovision 2015 singer’s latest release is perfectly in tune with the funky retro beats that are washing over the world’s charts. Think Bruno Mars meets Meghan Trainor meets Fleur East. And then throw out all the comparisons, because Nadav owns it!

From the offset we’re urged not to give up, not to walk with our heads down. We should just jump. And Nadav sings with such urgency that we can’t help but obey. We’re bouncing up and down as if he’s showing us Tel Aviv all over again. The message is universal. It can be applied to work, love and life in general. And if you want to read even deeper into the lyrics, you could interpret this as a response to world affairs. You can’t stand idly by. You gotta get up and jump and take action. Hey, we never said Eurovision isn’t political!

What do y’all make of Nadav’s latest effort? Is he still a 24 carat boy?

Nadav Guedj – Jump Lyrics

‘Cause I’m not giving up up giving up
Don’t ever walk with your head down
I wanna see you jump
See you jump

‘Cause I’m not giving up up giving up
Don’t ever walk with your head down
I wanna see you jump
See you jump

I remember those nights
I was so hopeless
Took my bike for a ride
Just to clear my mind from this
World that we’ve been building
In our own hands, collapsing

And, man, sometimes I feel like there’s a way
To find some happiness
Yeah, I wanna dance this pain away
I’ll find my happiness

‘Cause I’m not giving up up giving up
Don’t ever walk with your head down
I wanna see you jump
See you jump

‘Cause I’m not giving up up giving up
Don’t ever walk with your head down
I wanna see you jump
See you jump

I’m not giving up on you
I wanna see you jump
I’m not giving up on you

As the days were passing by
Found myself with nothing
I wanted so bad to feel that I belong somewhere
The only thing I needed
Was just someone that I could trust

And, man, sometimes I feel like there’s a way
To find some happiness
Yeah, I wanna dance this pain away
I’ll find my happiness

‘Cause I’m not giving up up giving up
Don’t ever walk with your head down
I wanna see you jump
See you jump

‘Cause I’m not giving up up giving up
Don’t ever walk with your head down
I wanna see you jump
See you jump

I’m not giving up on you
I wanna see you jump
I’m not giving up on you

I remember when we were younger
Partying, forgetting all our troubles
Baby, I wanna see you jump

I’m not giving up on you
I wanna see you jump

‘Cause I’m not giving up up giving up
Don’t ever walk with your head down
I wanna see you jump
See you jump

@Erin: I’d rather be surprised by what he can deliver in the future after growing up and experiencing life than by being thrown with another uptempo garbage all the time for no reason. This kid is not a toy … but being seen as a toy or not will only depend on his own life choices and his hopefully growing maturity. Let him do what he has to do first and grow to become a man with more heart and commitment to music than just a kid singing the golden boy crap. With that voice he has got to be… Read more »

I’m glad its his comfort zone because it’s a slam dunk and this kid’s got his feet firmly planted on the ground. He’s got a tough year ahead getting his high school diploma and focusing on his matric exams. When he turns 18, he’d likely do mandatory military service without any shortcuts, so the window of opportunity for him is limited for about a year or so. Why not cash in on what he can deliver so convincingly? he should have the ride of his life now, even if its under the auspices of a calculated and commercial production company… Read more »

With that voice I find so misfortune that he is a one-dimensional kid with inability to step out of his comfort zone.
