Despite the the snowy background and the Christmas jumper on the cover of her new single, Dilara Kazimova is anything but festive on her new track “Running”. In fact, she’s brilliantly haunting and uses sleigh bells to create an eerie atmosphere that leads a bluesy groove. This is the lead single to Dilara’s upcoming EP with which she is “ready to reveal [her] new and true self after almost two years of hard work”. Let’s have a listen.

As on her Eurovision entry “Start a Fire”, Dilara doesn’t shy away from mixing English lyrics with an Azeri sound. The song is more modern and pop than her Eurovision effort, showing Dilara’s versatility as a performer.

Check out the “Running” music video!

Although the song doesn’t have any stand-out moment — you know, an 18-second high note or anthemic chorus — it makes for a radio-friendly track, useful for revision or walking through the snow to work at 7:35.

Unlike Andras Kallay Saunders, she’s “running to the crazy life”, and we’re following right behind her!

Love it! Sounds like no other song I’ve heard. I was seriosly not expecting something like this from Dilara. Amazing job.

Pretty nice, but it sure lacks something, at the very least in the chorus. That said, I like the ambiance of the track, and I’m looking forward to that EP!
