Have y’all checked the sky for flying pigs lately? Because Lithuania’s hunt for a Eurovision 2016 representative almost seems like a regular national selection. For once we know what artists will sing what songs and said songs aren’t being swapped back and forth as in previous years. Note we said almost. That’s because LRT are still a law unto themselves when it comes to scheduling.

They’ve only gone and combined the third and fourth heat into one final heat, which will be broadcast on Saturday 23 January. This means that the first quarterfinal may or may not take place the following week (it was originally scheduled for 6 February). However, after heats one and two, we do know the ten acts which will compete in quarterfinal one (unless LRT decide to do even more tinkering!). The line-up includes past Eurovision stars Donny Montell and Erica Jennings. Only eight will progress to the semifinal. Who deserves to make it?

You can watch all ten performances below. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you like, but you can only vote ONE time. Be sure to check the box next to every act you want to support before submitting your votes. Voting ends just before the first quarterfinal (we’re waiting for LRT to confirm the exact date).

Donny Montell “I’ve Been Waiting for This Night”

Erica Jennings “Leading Me Home”

Petunija “Tomorrow”

Behind the Moon “Did It All”

Alice Way “Hero”

Ruta Sciogolevaite “United”

Istvan Kvik & Ellada “Please Don’t Cry”

Catrinah “Be Free”

Valdas Lacko “Stay Tonight”

Egle Jakstyte “Leisk dar buti”

I like Catrinah Petunija and Egle 🙂 I liked the previous song of Ugne Smile that she was eliminted with too… but oh well… This year Lithuanian national selection is so much better than all of the previous ones! 😛

Anyone who’s says Ireland is anything like “Heroes” should be recomended for brain surgery and banned from ESC completely. P.S Sunlight was written in 2014 so it can’t be a copy/Plagerism

I want Ruta Sciogolevaite to win. Her song is a pure plagiarism. More drama.

Catrinah ‘Be Free’ is such a beautiful song. I connect it and I don’t even know why it just makes me emotional. I would love to see her progress and she might even be my favourite. I feel a disconnection between the song and her staging but that can be fixed. It’s truly captivating.

Petunija and Alice Way are the only ones I actually like. I don’t get the hype for Erica at all, and Donny would just be a second Ireland, a “we’ll send what did well last year” type entry. Sure there’s nothing wrong with it per say but it’s just generic and bland. It might be able to get a decent result at ESC, but I can’t see it actually having that lasting appeal.
