It may not be the spectacular Super Saturday that Eurovision fans love to love (or love to hate), but you’ll still have plenty of work to do tonight! Your ears may explode and your minds will certainly be twisted into knots as you attempt to follow selection shows across six different countries (and in six different tongues). But hey, anything for Eurovision, right?
Ukraine, Iceland, Sweden and Finland will each kick off their 2016 national selection shows, while Lithuania and Hungary will broadcast yet another round of their ongoing selections. To help you keep track of who sings when and in what country, we’ve prepared this schedule, along with links to all the national final live streams.
As ever you can follow all of the results on the wiwibloggs web site and on our various social media platforms — including Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook.
NATIONAL FINALS SCHEDULE: 6 FEBRUARY 2016
UKRAINE: National Selection Semi-Final 1 (18:00 CET)
After sitting out Eurovision 2015, Ukraine is bag and its selection looks to be bigger than ever. Televoters and a special jury — consisting of Ruslana, Konstantin Meladze and Andrey Danilko (aka Verka Serduchka) — will listen to nine acts and decide which three should advance to the final (another three will be decided in the second semi-final next week). The Hardkiss, Anastasia Prikhodko and X Factor winner Aida Nikolaychuk headline one of the most anticipated returns of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. You can breathe in the Ukrainian realness from 18H00 CET.

HUNGARY: A DAL 2016 Heat Three (19:40 CET)
Another week, another heat! The Kállay Saunders Band won last week‘s heat in Hungary. Tonight ten more acts will compete for six more places in the semi-finals. A professional jury will send through its Top 5. Then the public must vote to save one of the remaining five. You can watch it live from 19:40 CET. Ahead of that you can listen to all of the songs here.

FINLAND: UMK 2016 Semi-Final One (20:00 CET)
At 20H00 CET we’ll travel north to freezing Finland, as they kick off their four-part national selection show — Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2016. In this first semi-final, six acts will compete for only three tickets to the final. Saara Aalto is the Wiwi Jury’s favourite for this semi. She also won our fan poll. But you can draw your own conclusions by listening to all of the songs here.

LITHUANIA: Eurovizijos 2016 Show Five (20:00 CET)
Eurovision’s longest national selection keeps on going in Lithuania — and we don’t have a clue when it’s coming to an end. Ten acts will compete (again) for eight spots in the next phase of the selection (quarter-finals, semi-finals? Who knows…) You can give Eurovizijos a chance at 20H00 CET.

SWEDEN: Melodifestivalen 2016 Semi-Final One
Europe’s most talked-about national selection kicks off tonight — and producers will do their best to put the Anna Book disqualification behind them. Gina Dirawi and Petra Mede will welcome Sweden (and Europe) to Melodifestivalen live from Gothenburg. Six acts will compete for the two available places in the final and two spots in the Andra Chansen (Second Chance) round. Ace Wilder and Samir & Viktor have emerged as the favourites in this semi. You can watch all the melodrama from 20H00 CET.

ICELAND: Songvakeppnin 2016 Semi-Final One (21:00 CET)
The last national final to kick off this evening is in Iceland. Songvakeppnin is back and so is Gréta Salome (Iceland’s 2012 entry, along with Jónsi). She’s also the favourite to win this semi, according to the Wiwi Jury. Karlotta Sigurðardóttir and Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir & Hjörtur Traustason should also go through, according to our panel. Televoting alone will decide which acts are the best, from 21H00 CET.

According to the schedules I have, A Dall doesn’t actually start for another hour, and it is being shown on ‘DUMA’ channel (no pun jokes please).
And yet again, the A Dal link streams a channel that is not showing A Dal!!
Any ideas?
Right, watched til Jamala – she made it work on stage, The Hardkiss were OK too but Jamala is definitely looking like the winner so far – now UMK. Then sleep, it’s almost 6am here. Eh, sleep is for the weak.
Ukraine first, than Finland and after 1 hour Iceland 😀 😀
As an Aussie who won’t find out the results until the morning, I want to hear that Ace Wilder (Melodifestivalen – Direkt till final), Saara Aalto (UMK), and The Hardkiss (Ukraine’s selection) survive today. Provided they deliver good performances of course. The rest I don’t really care about.
Need to see UMK Saara, all of Melfest – then I’ll start Iceland and then tune back to the results in Melfest.
Tonights gonna be busy.
I am going to watch UMK! Most songs are good.
1. STB doesn’t broadcast Ukrainian NF online, it can be only watched on TV.
2. Your forgot to mention main favorite of Ukrainian selection – Jamala, which is also participating in 1st semifinal.
Seems like I will watch UMK first and after that Iceland… My overall favorite is in Iceland’s semi tonight :0 #TeamGreta
In Sweden, all eyes and ears are still on Ace and Molly S. As of now, bookies have Molly S. on top, with Ace 2nd, Isa 3rd and Lisa Ajax 4th. Each is expected to win their respective rounds.
In Iceland, Gréta is barely the favorite, ahead of Aída, Karlotta and Elisabet.
Excited for Ukrainian semifinal, Melodifestivalen and UMK. 😛
Excited for Melfest(Team ACE) and Songvakeppnin (Team Karlotta)
Melfest and UMK here. Followed by Iceland if I can handle that much TV.
It’s Melfest and UMK for me! 😀
just melodifestivalen for me.
The Ukraine stream says it’s not available outside Ukraine. Will that change by show time?
I’m excited to see Saara’s & Greta’s performances in their national finals! They’re may faves for Finland & Iceland!
