France 2 just won’t stop teasing us. Last week they posted a picture of their Eurovision 2016 act’s dressing room. And this week we learned that the artist is inseparable from his or her beloved instrument — the guitar. Sadly many fans think this rules out previously rumoured act Sasha (maybe she has a guitar at home that we don’t know about?!). In any event there are plenty of artists who are known for playing guitar. They include Kendji Girac (who previously turned down Eurovision), Joyce Jonathan and Damien Lauretta. Today we got yet another hint on Twitter.

In a short video clip, the artist answers some this or that questions. Now we know that the singer prefers Snoop Dogg to Mozart, Maitre Gims to Booba, slow dancing to twerking and emojis to GIFs, and Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings.

This obviously doesn’t give away that much information about the singer. But hey, who would not want to know all of this?

The artist will finally be revealed on March 12. We’re sure we’ll get more hints before then. Really telling hints like whether the singer prefers red velvet cake or mousse au chocolat, and whether the artist rather drink red wine or white…

Update: 21:38 CET

In a strange twist, the third clue tweet has been deleted and a new video tweet made in its place. Quelle intrigue!

While Justin Bieber’s current hit song “Love Yourself” players, the camera pans over some text and a drawing of five balloons, one of which heart-shaped. The words translate to “At the beginning there was a band. See you soon for the continuation.”

Which of our rumoured candidates used to be in a five-piece group? Well, Damien Lauretta got his break as part of five-piece boyband 2nde Nature on the French X Factor in 2011.

And even more intriguingly, Damien has a new single due for release soon. “Fall In Love” will be released on 29 February, and it appears that a certain French Head of Delegation is looking forward to it…

What about Sarah Caillibot and Joe Cleere’s “Premier Rendez-vous”? Both of them are guitar players. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eHXPJnNJjw

Also, the third clue says “demain à l’Eurovision” (tomorrow at the Eurovision), and demain is an anagram of Damien (Damien at the Eurovision).

If the singer should reveal his Hogwarts house, it would be much easier for us to identify him/her 😀

Ok, the third clue mentions a band and shows 5 balloons: Damien Lauretta competed on X factor as part of a boys band that comprised 5 members. One of the balloons is heart-shaped, which is a reference to his upcoming song “Fall in Love”, and the song in the background is “LOVE yourself”. I mean, come on! Might not be him, but the clues definitely go in that direction.

I watched Damien Lauretta’s X-factor audition… I hope he’s worked on his English since then, because it’s hilariously bad. He clearly has no idea what he’s singing.

There’s a newcomer called Jayn.I don’t if she would like to represent France at the ESC, but her song entitled Come would make Europe dance in their living room on Grand Final night and it’s only 2.40 minutes long, and so great!Voilà!

Kendji Girac has a very suspicious tour break between Abril 30 and May 20:

It would be awesome if he went. His song “Les yeux de la mama” would draw votes from virtually everywhere.
