It’s taken a while, but after a jam-packed weekend we now know one third of the songs which will compete at Eurovision 2016. Or at least unofficially. Malta’s “Chameleon” appears to be in its death throes, Albania’s “Përrallë” is due to undergo a major revamp, while Italy have yet to confirm if “Nessun grado di separazione” will make it to Stockholm. Nonetheless, we’re taking the milestone and running with it.
Since 13 January, y’all have cast more than 21,000 votes in our weekly favourite act polls. Once again, it’s time to wipe the slate clean and ask you to choose your favourite Eurovision 2016 act so far. You can listen to the four new additions and watch our video reactions below. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you like, but you can only vote ONE time. Be sure to check the box next to every act you want to support before submitting your votes. Voting ends early on Thursday 25 February — just ahead of Germany’s national selection.
We will then relaunch the poll to include all the entries that drop that weekend — the aforementioned Germany along with the United Kingdom, Finland, Moldova, Hungary, Norway, Slovenia, and Latvia.
Eurovision 2016: Our top 15 so far
Dalal & Deen feat. Ana Rucner and Jala “Ljubav Je”
After a three year absence, Bosnia & Herzegovina are making sure everyone knows they’re back. “Ljubav Je” is part Balkan ballad, part rap, and part classical crossover. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s performed by the unlikely quartet of Dalal, Deen, Ana Rucner and Jala. The fandom has been divided ever since the entry premiered on Friday. Can the comeback kids harness the polarisation effect to their advantage?
Greta Salóme “Hear Them Calling”
Greta Salóme booked her return ticket to Eurovision on Saturday night following a nail-biting Söngvakeppnin final in Iceland. Alda Dís led after the initial round of jury and televoting. However, everything fell into place for “Hear Them Calling” in the super-final. Greta’s heading back to the contest with some outstanding staging and a swell of fan support. Can she avenge her disappointing 2012 result?
Jamala “1944”
After taking last year out, Ukraine returns to Eurovision with one of its most powerful entries ever. Eschewing their usual frivolities, they’ve sent Jamala with “1944”. The song is inspired by the harrowing mass deportation of about 240,000 Crimean Tatars under Stalin’s oders. And given the current strained relationship between Russia and Ukraine, many have suggested it has political undertones. Will this harm it when we arrive in Stockholm?
Minus One “Alter Ego”
Back in November, Minus One became one of the first confirmed acts for Eurovision 2016. The band narrowly missed out on a trip to Vienna with “Shine” in 2015, and most were expecting more of the same this time round. But earlier tonight the rockers dropped “Alter Ego”, and all preconceptions were blown away. Are Cyprus heading to the final for the second year running?

4.Albania
5. Italy
Spain and Ireland?? Really?? They were both in Ukraine and it was nothing special! After Jamala these performances were really ordinary. Maybe I don’t understand something, but if Jamala can’t even win over Ireland and Spain – it’s a shame
1. Ukraine
2. Spain
3. Cyprus
4. Iceland
5. Belgium
Iceland sounds low production andSpain Belgium sounds like.80s
I’d have the agree with @zeze some of the comments about Ireland being the “cheapest song in esc” are pretty insulting. The song is good, it won’t win ESC and I don’t expect it to either but it definitely is not the worst song in contention this year or is the cheapest songs that have ever entered ESC…..but I guess Sunlight isn’t the entry from Malta or Sweden or Ukraine it’s only little old Ireland so I guess it’s bound to be hated, but guaranteed if Sweden or another “fan favorite” country entered this everyone would love it. ESC fans… Read more »

5. Belgium
@Comi Ireland has the cheapest song that ever entered the ESC. Seriously?
I get that not everyone will like Sunlight but come on, the cheapest song ever? After Irelande Douze Pointe, Wadde, hadde, dudde da, Moja Stikla etc. I am ok with people disliking the song but some comments here are really unfair.
My Top 5
1. Cyprus
2. Iceland
3. Italy
4. Austria
5. Denmark
If you mean “performance” I have to take Iceland by this moment. Not that we’ve seen much from the others.
“Song” wise, my favorite is still Spain. Originally composed, fresh music for my ears (doesn’t sound like Sia, some 90’s rock band, boy band music, typical brit pop or ethnical drama music) Not just it doesn’t get old in my mind everytime I hear it, also I want to hear it one more time.
1. Ukraine
2. Spain

4. Iceland
5. Albania
@James Or lots of people like the song?? And it’s not just on this site, go on YouTube and Spain is number 1 in soo many vids, and top 3 in many others – from fans across Europe. It’s annoying when the word overhyped gets thrown against a song just because it wins polls.
Ireland’s position in the poll should be taken with a pinch of salt though as his fans beyond Eurovision will be voting regardless of the other entries – if he was an unknown I suspect it would be mid table in the poll
@Comi his fanbase is huge, that’s why, he’s from Westlife
when i vote this poll, ireland i at 5th place, then a few hours later, bam… ireland become first
Why tf is Ireland so overrated? Like, it’s the cheapest song that ever entered the ESC..
My top 5
1. Ukraine
2. Spain (Barei is my favorite artist out of all of them)
3. Iceland
4.Italy
5. Cyprus
My top 15 15. Georgia (I am not fan of rock music and as a result I put it in this position) 14. Belgium (Really now; A repetitive – without rythm song. A huge disappointment after Rythm inside) 13. Belarus (Not good at all. His voice is annoying) 12. Ireland (Just a mediocre pop song. Nothing special) 11. Ukraine (Although her voice I strong, the song alone is messy) 10. Austria (Nice melody but boring after the second replay) 09. Bosnia and Herzegovina (Nice song. A bit annoying in the rap part) 08. Malta (Nice rythm but her live vocals… Read more »

Still waiting for my national final (Poland), I’m probably going to vote for Margaret, but heads up: she has weak live vocals 🙁
It’s shaping up to be a great contest in May I think!

LOVE: Cyprus, Spain, Iceland, Austria, Georgia, Albania
LIKE: Denmark, Italy, B&H, Ukraine
NEUTRAL: Ireland, Belarus
DISLIKE: Switzerland, Belgium, Malta

Spain in getting overhyped to be honest….
Making a ranking is becoming increasingly difficult, this is gonna be one tough year. Because I can´t quite make my mind up I’ll just divide the songs in three categories: Songs I like: Spain, Switzerland, Cyprus, BH, Austria, Ukraine, Iceland, Italy (so far), Belgium, Belarus. Songs I’m indifferent towards: Georgia, Albania Songs I don’t like: Malta, Denmark, Ireland (even more after those disastrous live performances) Though I have to admit that even the songs I don’t really care for are decent in their own right. It doesn’t surprise me Barei is leading the poll, she’s first in almost all the… Read more »

The best entries are Spain, Iceland, and Ukraine for me. The second tier is Malta, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, and Cyprus.
Waiting for Justs to win to slay this competition! lol
Although expect Armenians to flood the poll once Iveta comes.
This is getting increasingly difficult!! My top 5 are:
1. Spain
2. Iceland
3. Switzerland (the live vocals need work but I love the song!)
4. Cyprus
5. Ukraine
With Italy Bosnia Herzegovina close behind.
Switzerland and Belgium have been my favorites for a while, but Ukraine is now in my #3 spot. I seriously don’t get the hype over Iceland and Cyprus right now
So now we’re back to Spain dominating the polls again? Well, I suppose it’s a first for this year…
