The release date for Sergey Lazarev‘s entry for Russia has been confirmed as March 5, after previously being pencilled in two days earlier. The music video will premiere on the Saturday news show Vesty v Subbotu at 18:00 CET.

Sergey confirmed the news to his fans on social media:

We don’t know much about the song itself, but we do know that producer and Eurovision veteran Philipp Kirkorov has assembled a dream team of music professionals to work on Sergey’s entry, including songwriter Dimitris Kontopoulos and choreographer Fokas Evangelinos..

And it’s this dream team that saw Russia become the bookies’ favourite since Sergey was first announced as Russia’s man for Stockholm. Russis has only recently dropped to second place with Poland’s national final contender Margaret suddenly becoming a hot favourite.

Saturday March 5 will also see the national finals for Estonia and Poland, Melodifestivalen’s andra chansen show, and yet another elimination in Lithuania’s seemingly endless national selection process. But the excitement will kick off at 18:00 CET when we’ll finally get to see if Sergey’s song for Stockholm will live up to the hype.

@oxyk You like insane! I don’t want to breed controversy! But when you’re in all comments relate to policy! And with only one hand! I have a question! You earn yourself on food?

@V, I’m not trying, I’m doing it. and I’m not aiming my anger at pan Sergyi, as you may notice (I’m pretty neutral to his work and person). if truth makes you offended, maybe next time make sure your nation does not commit any doings that provoke negative reaction and strong hate of others? give back Crimea, withdraw your thugs from Donbass, free Nadya Savchenko, Crimean Tatar captives and other political captives you keep for over a year and torture. Then I’ll reconsider. got it?

Oxyk, water can’t cool you down? Under every article you try to offense Russia and Sergey.

@Andrew that is the most silly reason to judge his chances, are you kidding haha!

… I’m only worried because he’s too ripped. Dima wasn’t this muscular when he won.

@Notts, maybe it’s because he wants to get better attention. the show he’ll use on weekend on Russia1 channel is very popular Kremlin propagandist show that all Russians watch with great dedication. Using its broadcasting time is a great benefit (also he’s in the middle of concert tour in Russia now, advertising won’t hurt)

this sudden change of Sergey’s song release date seems kind of fishy, anyone?
hahaha

Ehh, it is made only because of paying attention. After preselections in Poland more attention will focus on Russia and then Polish song will be forget that day. Bookmakers are making lists after “interests” of funs, not just after “great song”. Nevertheless, Sergey’s songs aren’t so great after hearing some of them (Margaret has better songs); maybe we will be positivly suprised 🙂

He is actually very professional singer and nice person and performer. But I think he is not young enough. Bilan was really young when he won. And Lazarev is just too mature.
