Sandhja will represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. Her song “Sing It Away” is written by Sandhja herself together with Milos Rosas, Heikki Korhonen, Petri Matara and Markus Savijoki. Through the song Sandhja encourages everyone to sing away their troubles: “Sing it away, all my troubles away, sing it away, never make me fade away”
Twenty-four-year-old Sandhja released her debut album “Gold” in 2013. The album didn’t chart in Finland, but got lots of positive feedback from critics. Currently she is working on her second album. Sandhja won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2016 — Finland’s national selection — with 160 points, and was a huge favourite of the juries.
Finland is taking part in Eurovision Song Contest for fiftieth time in 2016. They will perform in the first semifinal on May 10.
