Back in September, Douwe Bob was the first artist to be announced for Eurovision 2016, and he’s one of the last artists to reveal their song. But finally we’ll get to hear the Netherlands‘ entry for 2016, Friday morning, March 4, at 11:20 CET.

Initially the song was due to be released in February, but Douwe later announced that the song was going to be released on 2 March. A few weeks ago, the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS confirmed the song reveal had been moved to 4 March.

They are taking it big this year. A huge social media action has been started, you can follow everything from Douwe Bob (#TeamDouwe) on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat (TeamDouwe).

Over the last few months Douwe has been teasing us about the song and the performance. Would he go on stage in a Barbara Dex Award-winning costume or would he eat you alive with his make-up?

Also, he likes playing game. Douwe has dared everybody to take part in his hangman game in which he wants you to guess the title of the song. It tells us that the title will be two four-letter words. What can it be?

Let's play hangman… #keepemguessing #cantwait #tomorrow

This year, the Netherlands has chosen a new way to present the song: the internet. The song will be presented by Douwe Bob during a Periscope livestream Friday morning at 11.20 CET, which you can follow on all #TeamDouwe social networks.

The hype around Douwe Bob seems to be working, In the last few days, we’ve seen the Netherlands climbing the odds and they are currently placing as fifth most likely to win. Can they beat Sweden, Poland, Russia and Latvia? We will find out tomorrow.

Are you #TeamDouwe? What do you think the song title is? Let us know in the comments below!

Just heard it on Radio 2. I’m not a big fan of country music but I guess it’ll stand out a bit this year :/

I am completely anti-Team Douwe! O’G3NE should have been the rightful representative of the Netherlands to the Eurovision Song Contest!

@Olly the Swede
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here: the Netherlands has gained the worst track record over the last decade with only two qualifiers. Hopefully he won’t pull a Little Train, but you can never predict the future.

Being half-Dutch myself, I’m definitely getting very excited for tomorrow’s reveal! According to Douwe Bob himself and the Dutch commentator Cornald Maas, the song is meant to be up-tempo (which is good for us as almost all of the songs currently competing are either typical Eurovision-ballads or crappy pop songs). It’s heavily rumoured that it will be a modern rock-and-roll song (unlike Georgia’s awful song), with some modern pop elements. The media says he will do something ” 🙂 I believe the title of the song is something along these lines: – Walk Away – Stay True – Baby Doll… Read more »

I heard somewhere that it will be an up-tempo song. I think Eurovision 2016 needs that. There are too many young handsome male acts singing a midtempo song this year. We need more up-tempo.

‘Move West’, the sequel to the Pet Shop Boys song that’s less a request, more a demand.

As long as the song isn’t written by Anouk, it will probably be alright. I mean, ‘why-ai-ai-ai-ai’ would they do that to us again?

Please, let this be good. Songs dwindle down and not as many are standouts. Somehow I have a good hunch for The Netherlands and I don’t want to be wrong. We NEED a standout like Norway, Italy, Estonia and Belgium were last year.
