After four heats and the andra chansen round, balloons, glitter and hairspray, Sweden has finally selected the 12 acts who will compete in the Melodifestivalen 2016 grand final this Saturday. But who should win and get the chance to represent Sweden on home turf? Listen to the 12 finalists and have your say in our poll!

The Swedish public and an international jury will decide the winner on Saturday, but before that, you can pick your favourites.

Listen to the songs below and have your say by voting in our poll. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote once, so choose wisely! We’ll close the poll on Friday 11 March, just ahead of the grand finale on Saturday 12 March.

Panetoz – “Håll om mig hårt”

Lisa Ajax – “My Heart Wants Me Dead”

David Lindgren – “We Are Your Tomorrow”

SaRaha – “Kizunguzungu”

Oscar Zia – “Human”

Robin Bengtsson – “Constellation Prize”

Molly Sandén – “Youniverse”

Boris René – “Put Your Love on Me”

Frans – “If I Were Sorry”

@Colin: No, you are not. Though I will admit that there might be one or two others I wouldn’t mind seeing at the very top. If the public and juries have a hard time deciding who to send to ESC, Panetoz might be capable of stealing it…

…But when was the last time MF was won from the starting position? That is the problem for them.

Am I the only one whose favorite song is ‘Hall Om Mig Hart’? So catchy and lovable 🙂

1) look all the time on odds and charts
2) create ridiculous theories
3) count points
The worst is that jury may be fans of this Gavster and they will do what he tells them. Maybe he is very rich and they pays them for the correct evaluation of performances (compatible with his delusions… ups, sorry, prediction of course).

This prediction is just mix of ridiculous theories. Melodifestivalen is too serious thing, to believe in something so primitive and naive.

I think I need a couple of corrections:
Panetoz 6, Lisa Ajax 6, David Lindgren 5, Saraha 6, Oscar Zia 5, Ace Wilder 6, Robin Bengtsson 6, Molly Sanden 6, Boris Rene 6, Frans 8, Wiktoria 6, Samir & Viktor 10.
They all are generally not bad, but they are similar and that’s why competition should be fierce as Premier League.

Just stop it Loo! Frans is going to fail at Eurovision. Everything points at it! I haven’t seen any signs that he is a favourite among our finalists except in Sweden! Ace and Oscar are the overall favourites, and probobly Robin too! I’m sooo angry with my country right now!!

As Frans could have been a Eurovision winner in any other year (We will most likely not win this year) it would be very stupid of us not to send him 😀

Love how everyone says Frans has a bad English accent. It’s more authentic than most of your English, that’s for sure. He’s a native English speaker, grew up with the language since his father is Nigerian born,London-raised, and Frans grew up in London. How can it be anything but fake? Don’t know why everyone is so hung up on his accent. And also don’t see why people think Samir & Victor will win. As a Swede I can tell you they have no chance of winning. They most likely have a huge summer hit like last year but a win?… Read more »

Sweden does not have a Eurovision top five song amongst this lot so I am not really worried about what they pick.
With that in mind, I hope that the juries mirror the Swedish people and do not make the televote meaningless. If it is Frans or Samir and Viktor, so be it!

I estimated low quality of entries from final of Melodifestivalen this year, because they are really not special. Here you have recaps:
2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V18MxQQbQeE
2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8KPr9eu79Q
Samir & Viktor are clearly different this year. More direct and tight. Their entry last year was too oversized. They had also strong rivals. Final of Melodifestivalen 2016 will be much more boring, dull and monotonous than final of Melodifestivalen 2015. You need more discipline instead of arguing with me. Now here are only two serious candidates for many votes. Frans because of hype and Samir & Viktor because of quality.

I’m talking only about the facts. Is it not true that according to rankings and odds in 2011 favored were France, Hungary, Estonia or United Kingdom? Is it not true that Bonnie Tyler and Cascada are very popular artists and they were favorites in ESC 2013? Spain and Iceland were very popular in 2012, and Molly Smitten Downes from UK dominates rankings in 2014. Mei Finegold from Israel even not qualified to final. Last year Maraaya from Slovenia also achieved very weak result compared to the rankings in internet.

Maybe you think that Andra Chansen should ruined their chance? The Moniker in 2011 was only third in semi final. He strongly lost against Sanna Nielsen “I’m In Love” and Brolle “7 Days And 7 Nights”. He was third in final near Danny with “In The Club” despite bad starting position (3rd out of 10). “7 Days And 7 Nights” was last this year in final. In 2012 Thorsten Flinck with “”Jag reser mig igen” was only 4th in semi final. He lost against Loreen, Dead by April and Sean Banan. He had 3rd result in televoting in final (behind… Read more »

Even if you think this is similar to “Undo”, this was just semi-final. In final it will be worse, especially since Christer Bjorkman clearly prefers Samir & Viktor, because he gave them the best starting position in final and he invented stage in Stockholm clearly for their entry.

“If I Were Sorry” is not very similar to “In The Club”, “Oh My God” and “Popular” (the best entries from Melodifestivalen 2011), “Euphoria”, “Amazing” (the best from 2012), “Begging”, “You”, “Heartbreak Hotel” (the best from 2013), “Blame It On The Disco”, “Undo”, “Busy Doin’ Nothin’ (from 2014), “Heroes”, “Guld Och Gröna Skogar”(from 2015) . Maybe this is only a bit similar to “Jag Reser Mig Igen”, “Soldiers” (from 2012), “Tell The World I’m Here” (from 2013), “Songbird” (from 2014), “Jag är fri (Manne leam frijje)” and “Don’t Stop Believing” (from 2015).

Frans has great charts, but last year Jon Henrik Fjallgren and Hasse Andersson had clearly worse charts than Eric Saade and Samir & Viktor. I know it because I was watching charts everyday.

All you brits here should support Frans. He’s your sas well as ours. Like I mentioned before, Frans was born in Sweden but grew up mostly in UK. He’s a british citizen. So to everyone who has arguments about his english. Stop making yourself a fool because Frans has better english than almost all of us here 😉

It’s very interesting for me as a swede to se all these comments. I respect you guys, but I disagree with most of it.

And to MGR… Just … Bye.

Sorry, but in most cases you seem more of a dumb not an intelligent person. Do you even do something else except commenting on Wiwibloggs? That is really pathetic. Hopefully someone will block you. Your opinion has became irrelevant and nobody cares of what you’re saying, because you’re talking too much. Find some other hobby or a job, maybe?

@EugeneESCUK: The fact that there is no real standout makes for the possibility of the perfect storm that earned Robin Stjernberg an unexpected victory (from the A.C. round) over Yohio in 2013, or the unexpected storm that almost gave Ace Wilder an upset win in 2014. Last year, the jurors were pretty much dead set on Måns (9 of the 11; one to Jon Henrik and one to Mariette). In 2013, they gave their 12-point scores to 6 different contenders (3 each to Robin Stjernberg and Ulrik Munther, and 2 to David Lindgren). In 2014 they gave 12-point scores to… Read more »

My Top 3:
1: Oscar Zia – Human – I LOVE this – it has a good message and I like that the staging is simple yet advanced at the same time.
2: Wiktoria – Save Me – It’s a good song and performed extremely well
3: Robin Bengtsson – Constellation Prize – Love the harmonica influences. Sort of like Kygo

Frans is growing on me but I still dont think he deserves to win. Other possible winners (not my personal favorites) are Molly Sanden, Samir and Viktor and SaRaha (possibly the darkest horse of them all)

Jury is unpredictable. I don’t know what they will do, because sometimes they are wise, but also very often they are stupid. For me it is a great mystery. Maybe also they will vote for Samir & Viktor?

Lisa or Molly. It should be a girl this year.

2010, 2012, 2014: female
2011, 2013, 2015: male
So, following that system, a girl should win 😉

Still miss ISA. Hopefully SaRaha will become dead last. I want #Justice4Isa.

From a rational point of view seven persons should have bigger power than one person. Especially when Frans will perform his entry less accurately than it was in semi-final.

Adding up the points from YouTube videos puts Oscar first, then Molly or Robin followed by Ace fourth. I think Oscar will win International Juries but Franse will win the Public Vote. It’s gonna be close.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you have heard all songs before voting? I’m just asking because there is possibility of hearing one song, liking it and thus, give it a vote. However, that way you don’t see the whole picture.

Frans is kinda overrated.

My ranking:

1. OSCAR
2. MOLLY
3. ROBIN
4. ACE
5. LISA

I’d love anyone in my top 5.

6. VIKTORIA

I don’t think the following would be good choices.

7. FRANS
8. DAVID LINDGREN
9. SAMIR & VIKTOR
10. BORIS RENE
11. SARAHA
12. PANETOZ

On SVT poll.. wasn’t Måns Zelmerlöw far more superior last year than Frans? He gathered more than 40% of the votes if I remember correctly. We’ll see the outcome on that one. However.. that poll is far from voting with the app on Saturday 😀
