Last night, after televoters chose Ovidiu Anton to represent Romania in Stockholm with “Moment Of Silence”, M I H A I, who finished fifth with “Paradisio”, congratulated the winner. This morning, however, he proceeded to blame the jury for his failure and vowed to never return to Selectia Nationala.

At first, it seemed that M I H A I took the loss on the chin and thought it was fair play with Ovidiu. He congratulated the winner via Facebook.

Bravo Ovidiu Anton ! Chiar ma bucur sincer pentru tine. România are nevoie de voci noi … Succes maxim !

Posted by Mihai Traistariu on 6 Martie 2016

Bravo, Ovidiu Anton! I am honestly happy for you you. Romania needs new voices… Best of luck!

This morning however, his attitude turned sour and his attention turned to the expert jury, who, after his performance at the final, criticized his show. M I H A I told Romanian daily Adevarul:

[I will only return] to Moldova’s selection. I wanted to enter this year, but the submission window had closed. The rules allow it and there are ten other countries that allow foreign acts to represent them. I will try in any other country except Romania. It’s not revenge, I just see my own interest and I want an international career.

I don’t know why the jury didn’t help me. They must be envious. Cezar Ouatu wouldn’t like me to go to Eurovision. Perhaps he wants to do it. Zoli [Toth] from Sistem wouldn’t like it if I bettered his third place result with Luminita [Anghel]. Randi […] complained that my song isn’t modern, but Ovidiu’s entry isn’t modern either. It’s an old type of rock, which doesn’t mean he is no good nor that the song is not beautiful. But it sounds old, so [Randi’s] argument doesn’t stand.

“Paradisio” could have brought us victory in Sweden. I am sorry that the viewers were influenced by the jury, which prevented them from voting for me.

The “Tornero” singer was not immediately available for further comments.

His potential participation in Chisinau is unlikely for now, seeing as the rules there no longer allow foreign acts to sing for Moldova.

M I H A I is not amused with 5th place. #Eurovision #SelectiaNationala #eurovision2016 #Eurovisionro

Who didn’t see this coming? It’s quite sad, really. He’s been riding that popularity wave since 2006 but hasn’t done anything to back it up. Just like Luminita Anghel, he’s desperate to become relevant again, by any means necessary, and, won’t you know it, he also proves to be a poor sport, blaming anyone but himself for the failure. This is especially embarrassing now when the public was the one to give him the boot, not the jury. In fact, without the golden ticket received from the jury he might have not qualified for the final so he should be… Read more »

ew. his song is mediocre at best. also who spaced-out each letter of their names like that? he tries so hard to be edgy but come across super pretentious.

I’m sorry for him, but he should blame himself. I’m pretty sure there were few people who told him the reality about Paradisio, but he did not have ears for that. The same way as on his YouTube account he deletes all negative comments. I’m happy he was not selected. This would have been an embarrassing entry..I like Ovidiu’s entry and even if his entry might be controversial for some or he’s not looking like Mans, he won this selection fairly and that’s important. As long as he qualifies in the final I’m happy.

Ehhhh his song was okay, but it wasn’t that great and he was just trying to extend his 15 minutes of fame.

Mihai had an unmemorable song, which bored me. He has a good voice and is a talented singer, but song wasn’t on his level. It could not have brought victory to Romania, not even a Top 10. He had to take his feet on the ground again. He is not a God.

His song was better than Ovidiu Anton’s and his vocals were good overall, but his song badly needed backup vocals and harmonies in the chorus. And the staging was lousy for both entries. Either way, I’d rather be hearing Paradisio in Stockholm. But he shouldn’t be blaming the jury, even if he’s right that Ovidiu’s song is dated as well.

MIHAI accept that your song wasn’t as good as you think

Yep, the winner either, but that’s a life lesson. Life is not fair. But anyway… both of u were bad options for Romania XD.

He is right though. The winner’s song is dated too.

But Mihai should admit that his entry this year wasn’t strong enough… good show though.

This song should be named “My Delusions”. Then he could get many votes for honesty.

There are times like this when I wonder if people really believe in what they’re saying or are just trolling or just do it for publicity. Probably the latter.
Either way, what a poor attitude.

That’s simple. He has a problem with his EGO.
He was sending friendship invitations on Facebook some months ago (I accepted him and some days later I deleted him, HE WAS SPAMMING EVERY SINGLE DAY). If a singer does something like this that means he is a BAD artist.
I know Mihai (without stupid capital letters) will read it because he loves to read about himself so I have a message for you:
“You are DISAPPOINTING (yes, now it has capital letters), you are a parody of who you were 10 years ago. PLZ STAHP”.

He seems to have forgotten that the only reason he went to Eurovision in 2006 was because of the jury lol. He was my favourite in 2006 but he is such a sore loser, he should seriously get over himself, Paradisio is nothing wow

His song wasn’t bad but come on, it’s not a huge hit either … It’s too repetitive and not modern (the judges were right). I understand that the defeat was bitter for him but when you lose, you just have the right to be fair-play. The worst thing you can do is being a Diva … So M I H A I please stop being the cat’s whiskers 🙂 You deserve better than this.

But to be honnest, I’m note sure that Ovidiu is going to do well at Eurovision. Wait & see …

What a bad loser. He lost for a reason – people didn’t like his song as much as ‘Moment of Silence’ or the other three entries that finished above him. It’s as simple as that. Also, he’s represented Romania once before so he should accept that and allow first timers to have their Eurovision moment. It’s alright to feel salty, but not okay to blame it all on a jury, who were just doing their job.

Tbh he should’ve won back in 2006, Torero was a eurodance masterpiece but seeing how far up his ass his head is really starts to ruin it for me 🙁 and also Paradisio would’ve never won Eurovision. It would’ve been like a repeat of Charlotte from 2008

I’ve heard before that he is not a nice guy, but I guess this confirms it. He has a good voice, but his song is so pretentius and it seams to be an extension of his pretentious personality. He doesn’t want to return, good ridance. IMHO, Andra Olteanu had a better song and received way lesser score.
