loreen bulgaria eurovision

She cruised to victory at Eurovision 2012 in Baku and remains one of Sweden’s most acclaimed pop starlets.

And on Thursday “Euphoria” hitmaker Loreen took Bulgarian Eurofans to heaven when she suggested that Poli Genova could climb the scoreboard at Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm.

Speaking at a press conference in Sofia for relaunched music television station MMtv, Loreen had nothing but love for Poli’s entry “If Love Was a Crime”.

“I think Bulgaria’s chances this year are very high because it’s a strong song to be honest,” the 32-year-old said. “Whether it does win or not, it’s going to be something that is played outside of Bulgaria, internationally.”

“I think your song is actually very, very good. I think it’s international.”

“First of all it’s female. I’m trying to support the women in the music industry moving forward. She seems like a very cool girl. I love the song very much.”

Loreen — real name Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui — made the comments ahead of her first concert in Sofia, which will take place today.

She worked an off-duty model look that combined sophistication with her signature edge, teaming a dark top with 3/4-length trousers with parachute flair.

The “We Got The Power” singer wore her black tresses in a simple part, letting her locks flow in gentle waves down each side of her face.

Do you agree with Loreen that Poli’s song is international? Do you think that it can climb the scoreboard in Stockholm? Or was she just being polite? Let us know in the comments box below.

Aside from Voda, this is the best Bulgarian entry ever. It is really good and, if performed well, it should be in top 5. Greetings from Serbia

Anyone paying attention to today’s music could tell that this song fits right in. Regardless of whether Loreen’s just being polite, she’s absolutely correct, and I’d be quite happy if this song won.

Top 10 Worthy! Although Loreen ???????????? could be just saying that because she’s performing in Bulgaria. Wonder what Conchita Wurst ????????????????thinks about any particular acts this Euro.

Top ten material for sure…top 3 or top 5? I’m not so sure, but it’s a great song, nonetheless. Much depends on staging and her live vocals! 😀

Is it me or she ended up like any other ESC winner – going on just Eurovision related events Europe-wide?

Last year the fan wanks were Spain, Albania and Azerbaijan. We all know how ridiculous they really turned out.

It’s a pity for Loreen to publicly sing the praises of such obvious fan wanks as Spain and Bulgaria. I understand she wants to be polite to her hosts but there is a limit.

I love the Bulgarian entry, I love Poli and I love Bulgaria and I would not be negative if they actually win, I am in favor of a new country winning.

I don’t want to be negative, but though the song is amazing, sometimes I feel that it provides nothing new to the Eurovision 🙁 It is like I want to love it but at the same time there is something keeping me back.

I don’t mind Bulgaria winning this year. But I think Europe will place her somewhere in top 10 in the end.

I wonder if she would’ve said the same thing if she was invited to San Marino…. lol, that being said she is correct Bulgaria is amazing this year and poli will probably get one of the countries best results. Also, its in a very weak semi so she basically has a place in the final already.

remains one of Sweden’s most acclaimed pop starlets–> not true. Loreen’s single have flopped so far and her album has been postponed…

But she is amazing and she is right about Poli. If she didn’t like it, she would have said that she hasn’t listened to it yet.

Poli’s song is modern!

Big news: When in Bulgaria, Loreen says nice things….about Bulgaria.
Kidding aside, it is a good song. Potentially left side of the board.

Yep, Loreen is spot on! Bulgaria is one of the strongest entries this year and definitely their best ever entry, don’t know if it will win, but it’s definitely Top 10…maybe 5.

On a side note, I hope Loreen makes some kind of appearance on-screen at ESC2016 in Stockholm as an interval act, “Euphoria” is my favourite winner of modern times and I still listen to the song today.
