Dozens of performers came to Amsterdam for Eurovision In Concert, but there was one performer who didn’t have far to travel. Wiwiblogger Denise caught up with the Dutch contestant Douwe Bob for a chat.

Looking suave in a camel coloured coat adorning his smart-casual attire underneath, he talked about his Eurovision journey.

The chat opened with a conversation about his plans for a bar in Stockholm. Yes y’all, this hottie will be opening a bar in Stockholm! Douwe Bob might even pull you a pint.

Talking about his song “Slow Down”, he said “I think a lot of people agreed with what the song is about, and what I stand for. We live in a generation where everything is moving so super fast, and sometimes it’s just good to take a step back and look at the bigger picture – which is love and respect”

Douwe Bob also talked about Anouk and discussed how her participation opened doors for many Dutch Eurovision contestants. Douwe Bob throws his two cents in a very chilled manner. We just love his swag!

Support for The Netherlands. What you need to bring over is a moment to ‘slow down’ and use the Amsterdam indoor atmosphere in black and white and add beige samples to it. Use the podium act to create this atmosphere from the cafe away from the hectic iPhone mail and bla bla and use your sexy eyes to bring the audience with you. Dress relaxed in jeans on sneakers as you are slowing down as the picture and show that body elegant but exiting… it’s in the eye contact. You have the best song and sing as never before. From the Internet, I think you are very lost!
Are you telling that the common linnets won their semi because Conchita was transgender? Yeah right!
The where second because they stood out in performance and song, that’s why they got the second place…
Eurovision will change, it’s a matter of time, it already has changed:) Hope you are ready for that!

Eurovision should stay Eurovision – with its own specific styles. There are many other shows, where you can see rap, jazz, country, trash, hipster-songs. Is it really so necessary Eurovision to change its specific face? In 2014 many people including East European juries hated Conchita, so they mostly voted not especially for The Common Linnets but against her. They voted for that “cute heterosexual couple” against “horrible transgender”. So, it was so called “protest voting” in 2014. And a country style song had never taken a high place at Eurovision any other year before 2014. So, you can do a… Read more »

Esckaz interview is so much more pleasant to watch and to listen to!
For you to find the difference:)

So… what was the last interview question supposed to be?
Gotta be one for the blooper reel, surely. 😀
Douwe Bob reminds me of a cousin of mine. I’d go to his bar any time.

Only gotta say; watch the interview with esckaz and you see a lovely spontaneous guy, very polite too 🙂 but i guess people like to bash him (and other artists) anyway.

I’m not hating Douwe over it, I’m just asking. I’ve never heard or seen people do anything like this.

Did you watch the interview Nene refers to? Then it should be perfectly clear to you. Or are you looking for reasons to hate Douwe Bob? In which case, knock yourself out.

OK, I’ve gotta be honest now. Who ASKS an interviewer to shake hands? Seriously? Is that what everyone does now?

you’re all judging his persolity based on ONE interview? if you would’ve watched for example his interview with esckaz you would have noticed he’s a really nice guy who even asked the interviewer if he could shake his hand as a thank you for the interview. and aside from that he didn’t even do anything wrong, he simply didn’t understand one question. doesn’t sound like the end of the world if you’d ask me.

Lol, Wiwibloggs and Douwe Bob will never be a successful marriage. Just ignore him from now on, that might be a better idea 🙂

And improve your English a little. You can’t blame him for not understanding a very vaguely worded question on a topic he doesn’t know anything about.

You can’t blame Denise for Douwe don’t knowing what to answer, I understood the question she was making. She is doing a great job in the pre-parties and, as far as I know, it’s the first time she is interviewing Eurovision artists. Although it’s her first time as an interviewer, she looks Although it is his first time as an interviewer, she looks nice, confident, friendly and positive with a body language that invites to dialogue. I don’t know what you are complainig about. So calm down everybody! About Douwe, well… I thought he was kind and funny, but that… Read more »

Oh come on. Douwe is who he is. He is not arrogant at all. He is just straight to the point, like every Dutch person, Denise is as well. Do you really expect Douwe to know Dami Im or Sergey? Let me rephrase that, did you know about those two before Eurovision? We Dutch hate beating around the bush and this whole fake additude that many other cultures have. Douwe is just calm, self assured and probably confused at the fact why Denise out of all people is interviewing him as she is Dutch herself.. Whom, btw, should work on… Read more »

I think the questions were bit weird. Douwe answered what he could. I think he seems intelligent and down-to-earth person. He is a normal guy. Not a bubbly and overpositive as many other singers this year. I think it’s all about the interviewer. She should’ve been relaxed and talk to him normally. This is a song contest, not RuPaul’s drag rave. For God’s sake!

All these conclusions that are being drawn about Douwe his personality.. pfff I see the same people reacting here as on facebook.. Really wanna make him look bad don’t ya..?! Sure he comes across as self assured, not the same as arrogant.. He’s a musician who knows what he wants and what he’s good at.. Nothing wrong with that.. Not every artist that goes to Eurovision is bubbly and very enthousiatic in an interview.. Cut him some slack.. Its about the song anyway, not about his interview skills.. Besides that I think he is still understanding Eurovision, it used to… Read more »

I can quite well imagine that he doesn’t know any of the ‘well known artists’ that were at Eurovision in concert because they’re only known locally at best (and most of them come out of talent shows and are just starting a carreer). That’s also his answer: he doesn’t know if Anouk levelled up the entries in other countries but she did in the Netherlands… I don’t find him bitchy towards her, just very euhm… Dutch 😉

I’m praying to God that pianist isn’t hired to fake play for his Eurovision performance. I don’t know if he was having a spasm or what, but it was the worst fake playing to backing track since Ashlee Simpson

You could’ve just been like, “Yes, Anouk brought a standard to Eurovision that makes my song reminiscent of her, and I think I will succeed from that.” Instead, he showed a really nasty and poshy attitude after Denise asked the question. Not cool.

And also no points from France.
