When Hovi Star revamped his Eurovision entry into a touching ballad, some people started to miss the previous edgier version of the song. But now the Israeli delegation has something for those fans who are craving something more uptempo: a dance remix of “Made Of Stars”.

Hovi Star – “Made of Stars” remix

The official remix was produced by Sagi Kariv — aka seGGa — who is one of the leading DJs in Israel. Sagi has performed at parties and festivals all over the Europe. Let’s hope he adds this track to his setlist!

The track adds some intense club beats, giving the lyrics of the chorus a new context. Hovi’s vocals are as strong as ever, with his R&B flourishes turned into highlights of the track. The song has a driving beat that will surely be a hit at Euroclub in Stockholm.

Hovi Star has been doing loads of promo in past weeks and showed off his beautiful vocals and charming personality in Riga, Moscow, Amsterdam and Israel’s first ever Eurovision preview party in Tel Aviv. Hovi will perform in the second semifinal on Thursday, May 12.

Which of the three versions do you like the most? Will you be dancing to the official remix at the Euroclub? Let us know in the comments!

I like this remix better than the original. Now Hovi sounds happy that we are made of stars.

San Marino has changed the 1st boring variant of their song into disco, and they have been raised by bookies. If Israel would have changed its boring ballad for some dance music like this remix, they probably would be able to raise to the final. But it’s too late now.

I usually like remixes, but this is just so generic it’s painful. It’s not well done at all.

A moment ago i thought that Hovi will release the remix of his song (just like Aram in 2014 and Elnur last year). Well, i was right.

This completely misses any emotion and beauty the original carried. Terrible.

Thank God its too late for Israel to get stupid and pull an Albania with this crap. Not that I’d expect them to, but still… the mere existence of this abomination worries me.

Eh, not a fan, but I usually hate dance remixes of songs I long anyway because they lose the thing about them I like.

Not a fan of the song original or the dance version, he obviously has a good voice but I dont think this will do well at Eurovision!

I loved the original version and I love the revamped version, as well! On the other hand, I don’t like the remix at all, I think it is a hot mess and it doesn’t suit the message and the lyrics of the song!

Just as long as this does not become a “disco Serhat” situation because this is made of awful.

This remix reaffirms the fact that ‘Made of Stars’ becomes engaging and enthralling only when the bridge sets the stage for the song’s anthemic climax.
The remix is just another aspect of good merchandising, a necessary byproduct for highlighting the part that really sticks in your mind and gets you hooked. I don’t believe it has any bearing on the song’s inevitable fate on the semi final night.

Hi wiwiblogs. Bosnia and Herzegovina hopefull’s also released an offical video for the song, but it seems you are ignoring it just like bunch of other stuff related to the songs your editors personally dislike. You’ve also ignored a new version of “Blue and red”, and revamped version of “Ljubav je” wich was promoted few weeks ago, but therefore we can see every little step Ira or this guy Hovi make. It’s just doesn’t seem fair and it certainly is not professional. In case someone wants to see the video for Ljubav Je (wich was one of the best this… Read more »
