Russian hunk Sergey Lazarev has been on an extensive European promo tour and his latest apperance was a live peformance of “You’re The Only One” on Serbian talk show The Late Night Show with Ivan Ivanovic.

Joined by his crack team of backing dancers, Sergey gyrated and bounced to the beats of the track, nailing the choreography and performance too.

Homeboy was keeping things dark and moody on stage, clad in a leather number that showed off his kinky side and hinted at his complete control over the stage.

Working his finger at the camera, the performance felt a little hemmed in by the small stage, but we know Sergey is going to roar like a caged lion let loose on the huge stage at Globen in Stockholm.

During the trip, Sergey also found time to hang with Serbia’s Eurovision act Sanja, who gave him a good drilling in an interview, and took in some sightseeing.

The duo soaked up the spring sunshine in the Serbian capital, chatting all things Eurovision and putting aside the competition to enjoy one another’s company.

Sergey will perform “You Are The Only One” live during the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 10th at Globen in Stockholm.

Ok, this just felt strange and odd. That dance routine is not the best and it just feels a tad boring when he performs it robotically like that…not as relaxed and fun as in the official video…hope he’ll performs it like in the video on stage in Globen… otherwise this will not win…

I like his song. It is 7th for me. I feel there are better songs out there, though, but his isn’t too bad and deserves to be somewhere in the lower top ten…nothing lower than 15th.

This song is so bad, completely dated and with ridicolous lyrics.

If he wins we will see the charts then…

It was much better Polina last year.

I cannot imagine ESC 2017 in Russia, LGBT people deserve better than that, and not only them, all of us who believe in human rights deserve something better for next year.

Not sorry, but music is not enough in Eurovision, deal with it.

@Loo: A hit where? In the Billboard charts? In the UK singles charts? Or just in Sweden or the toilet of your small sized flat-brain? That seems more believable.

This is the best performance with Sergey`s Eurovision song. I really like this song. Russia is my favourite because Sergey wonderful sings in live. This show is so perfect:)

haha.. fansites… do never ever take them seriously! Fans seems to not live in the real world. “If I were Sorry” is a hit already. Don’t worry 🙂

Loo the problem is that very few people believe that Sweden can win according to what I see in many fansites.I hope you are right.

Loo

@bella First of all, a swedish win would NOT be a surprise. Sweden is, together with France and Russia, one of the frontrunners. It can very well happen 🙂 There’s NO WAY that Russia would miss out a top 5 result. That’s almost impossible imo. France will do VERY well among juries I think. Together with Italy and Sweden. Eric Saade, Sakis and Alex Sparrow were all killed by the juries, why would they go for Sergey then? It’s very likely that Russia will win the televote though. If the results between the juries and televoters will split a lot,… Read more »

I adore Sergey – and obviously he was holding back a little – but all I could think of during that performance is that he seemed tired. The boy needs to rest, he does way too much!

Sergiey – very bad vocal. I m sorry, but it is true. Polina was better. Only music dont won in this competition. Voice – very bad, vocal critical.

Did he really have to do that acapella thing at the end? If he wants to trash those who think he’s been lip syncing all this time, silence and ignorance are the keys … well some people do have sensitive egos I guess …

Charles

Sometimes I have to remind myself of the common link that makes Serbia and Russia understand each other … the “black sheep” of each respective families 🙂 At some point people have to understand that no matter how many more times Sergey performs his song … the songs remains the exact same crap. It’s not gonna change. It is what it is regardless. Either wearing whatever he is wearing on stage or performing naked for the wet dreams of many with ears blocked but eyes way wide-open.

Angus, I think you mean Sanja gave him a good “grilling” – not drilling. Drilling sounds dirty, and rather X-rated. 🙂

@CandyToSim
Nobody likes this dance! Russians don’t like it either. But the truth is that this whole performance was made for his show in a couple of hours I think. And they decided not to change anything for promo-tour. Anyway it’s good to know that the final version gonna be nothing like this. It was stated many times and they also said that the main focus will be on Sergey only. And that he’s gonna work physically (God knows what exactly this means)

OMG whoever but not Russian. .so weak and awful as well so simple.even Poline was better than this one…we have great songs this year like Armenia Malta Iceland France SPAIN BUT PLEASE NOOOO RUSSIA this yeaaar….

I’m sorry but the song is awful, the dancing is truly cheesy and are we now saying that lyrics such as “thunder and lightening are getting exciting” is acceptable? How on earth is this one of the favourites!? I get people have different music tastes and nobodies individual opinion is 100% correct, but sometimes there are song which are just plainly bad and this is one of them. Are people really comparing this to Polina last year? The difference in class is vast! I will say he is a very good singer, but the song is dredful.

@bella

I answer your question here. Björkman is well aware of the fact that eurofans can’t stand that Sweden happens to be really good at this. He don’t care as he knows that the fans always wants to put Sweden down. He has high hopes for Frans as the song has become a big hit outside Sweden already which is very rare at this stage.

I like Sergey a lot BUT his song is not for this year’s esc.It would be a great entry in 2007/2008 but I just find it too cheesy for modern times. No hate for Sergey or for the song, it’s not the worst ever but it’s also not a masterpiece.

@ct_greece

Don’t know about the others but Sergey always sings live. Actually that’s the reason why a lot from russian showbusiness don’t like him.
I personally don’t like choreography too. It’s a relief to know that this performance is 100% not for the contest.
I have strange feeling that they do it on purpose. They decided not invest too much into pre-contest appearences. It’s obvious.
As Sergey said himself “Everything will happen on may”
But it would be nice to have some tiny clues at least
Anyway first rehearsal is on 2nd May. Very soon we’re gonna find out more

Well, there is a reason France will soon overtake him in the odds. I hope they do have better ideas for Stockholm than this underwhelming choreography we have seen in every one of his live performances. The last thing this song needs is these robotic moves.

@Davif Who
It’s obvious that they lower the key to save his voice. He sang at Mad Walk in Greece next day. Can find videos on Instagram. Btw his vocals still impressive.
Once again, this choreography isn’t for Stocholm. It has been confirmed plenty times before
The same about his outfit. Just one of his old costumes
Staging is still a huge mistery. Not a clue how it’s gonna looks like.

Honestly nothing special, how annoying how cheeky that he sings again bit of his song with plain voice after his petformance to take time from the show it’s like saying hey I am the winner. Sorry sergey Helena Paparizou has already won 11 years ago with very similar song and you are the male version of her like copy and paste I can’t see Russia win at all nor Russia neither France

Oh no! This wasn’t as good as expected. The key has been lowered, and this has tapped the energy away from the song. The choreography wasn’t perfect either – there were heavy steps in places. It all felt rather tired. And what’s happened to the chemistry between Sergey and Miss World (or whoever she is)? The choice of leather is so 2004 that it HURTS to watch it. No, no, no! Russian delegation please go back and look at the video, re-design the staging to mirror what’s there; and raise the key back to what it was please. (Otherwise, it’s… Read more »
