In order to help you deal with the proverbial PED, we thought it wise to relive the magical moments before this year’s performances, namely the Eurovision postcards. The 40-second clips produced by Camp David were built around the concept of a day in the personal and professional life of the artists. They showcased the beauty of their homeland. The result was 42 amazing, cinematic and intimate portraits — and now you get the chance to decide which was the best of the bunch.

What moment made you smile? Sergey walking his dog? Dami listening to her iPod on the beach? Or Juri’s pixelated bare butt? You can rewatch the short videos below, sorted in alphabetical order of the country, and then vote for your favourite postcard (or postcards!) in our poll.

@Anthony We shouldn’t have to resort to the use of VPNs. It’s the principal of why it’s being blocked.

The Malta postcard pleased me the most. I got my vote.

The small pub in Douwe Bob’s postcard with the ‘The FOOL Bar’ sign is actually his own house in Amsterdam. He invites their musicians and fans to try out new songs, and ofcourse have some fun.

They were all pretty meh. The production this year was superb and the postcards were the only part I didn’t care for. I much prefer last year’s postcards with the Portkey-to-Austria concept.

Loved the postcards in general, VERY well done!
I also liked the fact that the country’s name appeared in the end, hope they keep this from now on.

Maybe next year they could find a way to create their song title out of local things in their environment where they live eg. kinda like how lithuania 2014 created their umbrella flag, in that case they would use the umbrellas to make the song name.

FYI – @duff – If you are having geoblock issues use the ‘hola’ brower add on. Its a geoblock changer and you can select to view from any other international country.

Out of the ones I remember, I really liked Armenia, Norway, Ukraine, Lithuania, and Australia.

I actually liked these postcards. I like how each scene setting ended with the contestants standing with the camera zooming in/out. I also liked some of the transitions for the country names, like that plus sign thrown for Iceland.

On the other hand, some postcards used weird backgrounds for the final shot with the country name. Spain for example looked like a creepy, dark, street area.

@Duff @YoungsterJoey In fact, none of Eurovision fansites didn’t write anything about this geo-blocking that EBU made. The United States were not just the only ones have been harmed by YouTube videos blocking. Brazil, Canada, South Korea and Taiwan too (I know it because I’m Brazilian – and my country was blocked). Very strange for an institution that wishes to increase the audience in the Americas.

I like those postcards with pets : Slovenia, Russia, Israel ………
but I voted for Lithuania because Donny has his wife and daughter in it,
even if artists are advised by their managers that they could lose votes from female fans. It is cool that he did not hide his family to get more votes.

It’s not only the YouTube clips; we can’t even watch the final on the official Eurovision page anymore! (In that case, thanks SVT app and NDR for keeping the stream up for now)

The Eurovision blocked semifinal and final performances in Brazil, too. And the postcards as well.
