At Eurovision 2016, Ukraine’s Jamala rode a wave of emotion all the way to victory with her song “1944”. Serving other worldly realness, she defied genre — and the bookies — and gave us some spine-tingling feels. Of course, plenty of other acts left an impression too with some killer choruses and memorable staging. From Sergey Lazarev‘s technical smorgasbord to Dami Im‘s digital skyscrapers to Poli Genova‘s delightful chicken dance, a lot of these acts are lodged in our memory.
And then there are the others. As we scroll through the list of Eurovision 2016 songs, some are a bit harder to conjure up. Freddie’s “Pioneer”, Montenegro’s The Real Thing, Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz’s “Midnight Gold” — try recalling all of the lyrics verbatim right now. Told you so.
wiwibloggers William and Deban wanted to test how many of the lyrics and melodies they could remember while standing in front of a camera, and you can see the results below. It ain’t always pretty, y’all!
Which songs do you struggle to remember? Give it a go and then vote in our poll below. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote one time.

Poland-Micha? Szpak-“Color of your life”!
Best songs: Georgia, Cyprus, Ukraine. The worst: Moldova, Norway, Russia.
@#Justice4Margaret
That’s shocking to me because “You’re Not Alone” is the only song this year which I could remember after only one listen!
Estonia, Ireland and United Kingdom… can’t remember the rhythm.
I don`t remember Czech Republic. Song is boring and not catchy. I still remember all Sergey`s song. I can sing it at midnight:)
What should I vote if none?
Estonia’s one made me laugh the most!
seeing the argument here I assume people don´t even have a primitive messanger. where is life behind for 18 years? they must not be from any of the countries mentioned. Mars, maybe?
Going through the list, Cyprus Alter Ego was the only song I couldn’t immediately remember. I guess it really was forgettable generic rock.
But only audio… 🙁
+SummerWine
You can already watch Sergey`s performance on YouTube! 🙂
@Maru fr
Leave me alone, little hypocrite.
+ESC Greece?
Bitch – that`s YOUR personal name! (not mine)
@SummerWhine
Yeah 🙂
And I feel sorry for this pathetic Maru fr, he/she constantly lies about me, I hope most Russians are not like that 🙂
@ESC Greece
And I know all your nicks too.
Strange that yiu are not interested…
My interest in ESC usually starts from the interest about our artist. People differ=)
@SummerWine
I know you are Plum 🙂
Sorry, but I’m not interested.
@ESC Greece
Maybe=) And why are you not going to watch it? Don’t you like Greece music? I would love to watch it if I could…
@Maru fr
I DON’T hate Sergey, stop lying right now! I love all Eurovision contestants, so shut up! And stop saying that I’m not Greek, I can speak Greek if you like.
@SummerWine
Are you Plum? And sorry, but I’m not gonna watch it.
@Maru fr
You are officially retarded. I can prove you that I’m Greek, you can’t prove that I’m Ukrainian. So next time, before you type your nonsense think a little bit. It would do you good, Russian bitch 😉
@Maru fr
I am actually asking not about exactly Lazarev=))
+SummerWine
WHY you ask her about Lazarev??? Are you crazy?
Obviously she hate him! Possible she even not from Greece…
+ESC Ukrain
OK!!! I was right concerning you!
AND I don`t need advices from the silly person!
Conversation in ended! bye baby! 😀
@ESC Greece
You better tell me about tonight’s Paparizou and Lazarev Duo in Greece a bit later, ok? You have the opportunity to watch it, I don’t not(((
@SummerWine
Yeah, sure…
@ESC Greece
I behave logically and sensitively as usual=))
@Maru fr
First of all, you don’t have the right to call me “silly”. So stop it now. Second of all, sorry for telling the truth about your mama Russia 😉
Third of all, learn how to spell. And fourth and last of all, you can see yourself in what placing your mama Russia is. You are not blind, are you?
@SummerWine
“No matter how hard I tried to to abstain from voting I did it and I chose Ukraine just because of your comment about Russian haters”.
Congratulations, you seem to behave in a very logical way 😉
@ESC Greece
No matter how hard I tried to to abstain from voting I did it and I chose Ukraine just because of your comment about “Russian haters”. You should admit that there are not that many Russians on this blog and not all of those who wote for Ukrain here are Russians.
Nothing personal. Piece.
+ESC Greece
Lol I am not surprised that some silly persons accuse Russians!
btw… I didn`t vote at all !!!
And I don`t know on which place Rus is?
Ukraine 3rd??? LOL! Haters gonna hate.
Ukraine is now second! That’s totally ridiculous! I can understand why some people dislike the song but this poll is about forgettable songs… and “1944” is not that forgettable.
Hungary’s ‘Pioneer’ by Freddie is my second favourite of the contest (after Israel)! How do you find it forgettable? Those synchronised whistlers are forever etched in my head!
Ukraine 4th=Russian haters thinking that the poll is about the worst song and voting accordingly.
Even if my favourite is Georgia, the least memorable according to you, I understand why it is forgettable. The chorus isn’t that catchy. I also understand why Romania is 2nd, but he never was on the Eurovision stage, and that is unfair. I actually listened to it for some days ago, and then the song got stuck in my head. If it wasn’t for the disqualification, he would not have been 2nd. But I would go for Armenia(OK, climbed during show, but not top 15 material according to me), Croatia(OK before show, but the dissapointing staging made me forget it),… Read more »
Poland. Nothing appears whatsoever.
P.S: Apologize if my english is not good as it is not my native language
Love u all! <3
Poland Michal Zpack OOooo OOoooo tell me black or white…
Really loved the part where Poli appeared!She is lovely! Needless to say, but you guys are just awesome! I laugh in every single video you make! You are hilarious! You seem so out going and funny people, full of energy and love about Eurovision! Comments on the video: You seem to really like Russia as you remember many of the lyrics (me too actually!). Another thing is I love when Deban raps in the BH song! I also loved it in the review of the song! Very funny! As for what I still remember, I would say Russia, Ukraine, Armenia,… Read more »
Yeeey! Romania on place 3(it have the same nomber of votes as Montenegro)!!!
Great video!!
Luckily, somehow all Eurovision 2016 songs stuck in my memory. In every song, I found something distinctive that could be attributed to it, what is more, many of them know almost by heart
Yesssss, thank you for this great recap, guys! Honestly, the only song I struggle to remember is Georgia’s. But Albania second? It’s stuck in my head! My favorites were San Marino, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Slovenia (I’m no longer in your bed? LMAO!!!) Croatia, Spain and of course Malta (this one killed me!). And Poli was amazing too! Thank you once again for the good laugh, guys! You could also do one for 2011!
russia
It’s so much easier to never remember the worst songs when you have all that falsetto fest bleeding your ears …
1,5 month isn’t much time to forget a lot but I surprised myself by forgetting Italy chorus on their language 😀 Yet I’m picking up Falling Stars, Loin D’ici and georgian song (which is stylised as a bit faint and eclectic).
@Mirek
At least it was vocally better than Azerbaijan this year
Georgia i just dont remember very well!!! Hahahha omg i almost died when you did Malta with Laughter ????????????????????????????
awful performances guys… my polish ears are bleeding ;(
So basically we vote for the songs we don’t like
