This year will mark the 55th edition of the Albania’s Festivali i Këngës, the traditional music festival that has been used to choose Albania’s Eurovision contestant every year since the country’s ESC debut in 2004.
And now RTSH, Albania’s national broadcaster, has announced the submission dates for this year’s contest. It will accept songs from the 10th to the 11th of October, which is slightly later than in previous years. Perhaps Eneda Tarifa’s early exit has made them hungry for a win?
Interestingly, Albania has not yet confirmed its participation for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine. We will expect Albania to make its official decision in September. Even so, this advertisement for FiK suggests they will be at the party.

At this point just send Elhaida Dani back with internal selection, or Miriam Çani & Alban Skanderaj. Btw some people just make me laugh. Do you really think Era Istrefi, Dua Lipa & Bebe Rexha(or even Rita Ora)would do ESC? I mean, we all know what happen with famous acts. I don’t think Albania will win any time soon if they keep selecting their entry through FiK.
I’ve always thought that Albania in Eurovision is the country with marvellous voices and pitiful songs… Eneda deserved more, it was the song her problem (just like in 2014 with Hersi, changing language does not mean to have success and they could have worked better for both songs’ final versions).

Do like in 2015, select the FiK winner internally, immideately completely ditch the song and write a new modern and unique song, this time in Albanian
