Last year they topped the Norwegian charts with their debut studio album “Hei”.

And on Friday 14-year-old twins Marcus & Martinus made it clear they’re only getting started, as they dropped their latest single “Light It Up” featuring Samantha J.

The breezy track smacks of summer with its mix of ukulele and synth, accompanied by a heavy beat. The Brothers Gunnarsen may be under 18, but they are definitely serving some piña colada beach bar realness.

The Sony Music Norway protégés sing about love — and with the strings firmly attached.

“I’ll be the one if you believe it, Give all my heart if you will keep it, But you better keep it right,” the say. “You got me under your skin, And I feel ya deep from within, You better follow tonight, alright?”

They’ve given their youthful insouciance a bit of edge by teaming up with Samantha J, a Jamaican model and singer-songwriter signed to Columbia Records.

You may know her for her 2013 hit “Tight Skirt” and her 2015 single “League of My Own”.

She absolutely slays the hip-hop section with her Jamaican dialect: “Good energy is what we living for, Wi ah tun up, tun up, tun ah tun tun ah tun up to turn it up.” Yesssss.

Første plass på iTunes!! Tusen takk alle sammen?? #lightitup #1

The song hit #1 on iTunes in Norway within hours of its release, storming past Alan Walker’s international hit “Sing Me To Sleep.”

Besides topping the album charts in Norway last year with “Hei”, they’ve also topped the singles charts this year with their song “Girls” feat. Madcon.

Ahead of the Wiwi Jam in Stockholm this spring, Marcus & Martinus caught up with wiwiblogger William inside the Hard Rock Café.

They talked about their victory at Melodi Grand Prix, Jr, their love of Agnete and more.

Are you loving their new single? And do you think they should enter the adult Melodi Grand Prix when they hit 16? Let us know below!

MGP Jr. was a Junior Eurovision selection, then a MGP Norsk (Scandi JESC spin off that didn’t last.)

Denmark and Norway still hold the selection every year so if you like Junior Eurovision and wanna check out some new songs then watch em.

Who are they? How are they related to Eurovision?

#1 in iTunes is nothing in Norway. Spotify is the king of charts.

They are also VERY popular in Sweden. Their single “Elektrisk” from last year is extreamely popular in Sweden right now, and when they were at Allsång på Skansen 2 weeks ago, preteen girls shouted very loud, and if they once take part in ESC, they will get at least 8 points from swedish televoiting, due to mass voiting, and because Norway are our neighbours.

My goodness, I’ve never read lyrics worse than that. The power of preteen fangirls, I guess!
