The Voice of Russia: Aminata aims for gold after slaying in the battle round

In 2015 she ended Latvia’s non-qualification record with her show-stopping performance of “Love Injected” in Vienna. Now Aminata Savadogo is making waves all over again on The Voice of Russia. In this week’s battle round, she showed off her incredible voice and served Russia some of that Burkina Faso realness we know and love.

Not so long ago we reported that Aminata Savadogo successfully made it through the blind auditions on The Voice of Russia. She joined forces with her former Eurovision competitor and now The Voice coach, Polina Gagarina.

In the battle round this week, Animata gave a powerful performance, absolutely nailed it, and advanced to the next round. She has Russian viewers buzzing, with many saying that Aminata is the one to beat, and could go on to win the series.

Aminata was paired with the American singer Charlie Armstrong — grandson of the jazz legend Louis Armstrong. Together they sang the soul classic “It’s a Man’s World”.

The performance was so powerful and flawless that it left the judges speechless but very happy. Judge Dima Bilan noted (after a moment of amazement) that both of the performers are so strong that it would be extremely hard for Polina to make a decision.

However, the one with a million voices behind her had a clear vision of the result. She explained, “Charlie, I want you to forgive me, ’cause my heart really belongs to Aminata.” Ours, too!

We all know that Aminata’s voice can work miracles — her unique timbre, the inner power. And it seems that she convinced a lot of Russian viewers. Fans of the show are predicting that the Latvian diva will reach the final and maybe even win. But to get there, she will have to go through the knockouts, quarter-final and semi-final. But we’ll be there, following her journey throughout The Voice of Russia. Our fingers are crossed for her!
