George Michaelides sings that his heart is beating like a drum. And after his first rehearsal at Junior Eurovision we could totally feel the rhythm.

Our wiwibloggers in Malta caught up with him and his dancers afterwards to talk about his song and meet his English mum. Now we understand where that amazing English accent comes from.

Watch the full interview below and meet George and his dancers: Mia, Emily, Georgina and Nikoletta.

George is stoked: “I’m very excited to perform it, just sang it on the stage. It’s absolutely an amazing experience,” he says. “I will never forget it.”

During the interview, George explained how supportive everyone in Cyprus is about dancing.

“We love to perform. That is what I want to do the rest of my life, performing on the stage. The message of my song is how I feel about dancing and why I loved it so much.”

He also revealed his love of musical theatre, especially Jersey Boys. “I really love the songs, the way I move, the whole musical.” The next stop is Broadway!

We also met his gorgeous mum who also runs a performing arts school. “I was nervous, but the kids put so much effort and hard work into it,” she says. “For the first rehearsal, I’m happy.”
