From a sweet teenager to a beautiful swan princess, Olivia Wieczorek is Poland’s new national sweetheart.

“Nie Zapomnij”, her song for Junior Eurovision 2016, translates to “Don’t Forget” in English. And Olivia made sure we won’t forget her as she walked the red carpet at the Junior Eurovision opening ceremony on Monday.

Our William caught up with her afterwards. The pair talked about everything from the Polish national final, to the meaning of her song, to what Olivia gets up to in her spare time (not that she has much of it this week!).

Olivia Wieczorek interview at Junior Eurovision 2016

Olivia tells us that even though she prefers to perform solo on stage, her nerves always find a way to creep in. Thinking back to the national selection in Poland, Olivia says “I was so nervous, but I’m so excited because I’m (at Junior Eurovision) now. I get nervous every time, but I love it. I want to have it.”

It’s no surprise to anyone following JESC this year that Olivia is clearly thinking about someone special when performing her song “Nie Zapomnij”. Olivia tells us “My song is about feelings. Don’t forget to be close to each other and not your smartphone.” Henny, it seems Olivia is sick of trying to feel your love through FaceTime.

Make no mistake — despite her young age, Olivia is no stranger to showbiz. She was a part of a Polish kids television show called Little Giants, where she took on Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” and other huge songs with big vocals. Olivia — you slay!
