Her Disco Week performance earned her a standing ovation from the judges, and then she sailed through the public vote to reach the top 6 of X Factor.

And on Saturday night Saara Aalto took to the X Factor stage for Movies Week. But how did she do?

As we know, Saara has already covered Frozen’s “Let It Go”( the obvious choice) on the first live show. So what is a frozen Finnish princess to do in such a situation? With the competition hotting up, she decided to werk those lungs on a former Eurovision winner classic, Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic. It was epic. And I mean goosebumps level epic.

In her VT, things got emotional as Saara revealed that her family in Finland were unable to see her X Factor journey. Luckily for Saara, producers gave her the opportunity to receive messages of support from home through a tablet.

“We are proud of you and hope the whole of Great Britain votes for you. So good luck, we wish you success. Be yourself. Thank you,” said her grandparents in a Skype video call. Oh so many feels!

A brief clip of Saara’s rehearsal left Matt Terry feeling nervous. “Your voice is just huge. I’m worried.” And with Saara improving week by week, so he should be!

Saara Aalto – “My Heart Will Go On” – X Factor UK

Saara graced the stage by herself and rocked a dainty bejewelled tulle ensemble. This performance was much more demure and understated than many of her previous efforts. Without all of the crazy costumes, hair and choreography, Saara ensured that all of the focus was solely on her voice. And she absolutely killed it!

Saara’s performance earned her another standing ovation from Louis, Sharon and Nicole.

Louis gushed: “Every week you surprise me, you keep getting better and better. Is there anything you cannot sing? You’ve out-Celined Celine, last week it was Streisand and Donna Summer. You always deliver, and you look amazing.”

“That last note had wings, it was soaring and we were right there with you. You looked like a beautiful Finnish fairy princess out there” said Nicole. “It was very enchanting, you’ve been able to do this Celine Dion classic like that. It’s a testimony of how great a vocalist you are.”

The only slight criticism Saara received was from Simon, who wasn’t a fan of her dress. “I liked you being a bit more wacky”, he admitted. It’s a far cry from the “two incredible weeks” she had dressed up as a Geisha and serving disco glitter realness, but here at wiwibloggs, we think she looked super pretty.

Afterward, host Dermot O’Leary asked Saara if she remembered her first X Factor audition, which was the opening day in Manchester back in May, “the best moment ever” for Saara.

Vote for Saara Aalto

If you are in the UK, you can either vote by phone, mobile or on the X Factor app. Voting will close on Sunday during the live results show.

The bottom two acts compete in a sing-off, with the judges choosing which act will stay and who will go. If the judges are tied in their decision, this weekend’s public vote between the two acts will decide the result.

If you’re calling from a landline or mobile, Saara is #3. You can dial:

Saara was by far the best performer this night. Her voice stood above everyone elses in strength and beauty. A true vocalist. Maybe it’s the song choices the others have made that are weaker. Matt Terry’s was good but not as strong as he has been. He has a good voice too that demands respect in the industry.

Why do I always feel Honey G’s performances are double longer than Saara’s. And I too found it unprofessional from Simon that he didn’t stand up for Saara but did for the worse singers. He doesn’t seem credible at all in what he does and I start to think the show is really a fix like so many say. Why didn’t they say to Saara “you need to be in the final”?

Sometimes I question how professional is Simon. He did not stand up to clap to her, and he did not like her dress. On the other hand he stood up to clap for Honey G and it seems like he liked her outfit. LOL,,,

Saara Aalto is amazing !! She deserves to win it all. I hope she will miss the bottom 3 but I think because of Simon’s comment she will fall there again 🙁 🙁

At first I thought the song was a little too obvious or even easy for Saara, but I was transfixed by the simplicity and the voice hooked me. It was emotional and refreshing.

My only negative comment is that it was too short and should have gone ON. (and on)

Saara is just brilliant! Bookies are predicting her as second favorite to go home behind Ryan, but she deserves to make the quarterfinals with that performance
