Zühlke will compete in Finland’s Eurovision national final Uuden Musiikin Kilpailiu (UMK) 2017 with the song “Perfect Villain”. The track is a fiery song about being in a relationship with someone who is very opposite. As Zülke sings, “Guess every hero needs a perfect villain”.
The song is about someone who has come into Zühlke’s life and messed up her cool. She sings, “I used to think I was a fighter/I was always flying higher/Till I met you”.
Zühlke looks to the world of comics to fully describe the emotional disruption she’s experiencing. She wonders, “What would the X-Men do if they came to the rescue? Would they lose their powers too if their Kryptonite was you?” (But she had better watch out — those lyrics contain a couple of trademarked terms held by Marvel Comics and DC comics respectively. It’s something the Eurovision rules don’t allow.)
Zühlke is also planning to show her lover how important she is. “One day I’ll go undercover/Maybe then you will discover that without me, baby you’re incomplete.”
