Just a few days ago, you chose Wiktoria as the Melodifestivalen 2016 debuting act that you most wanted to return. Well, your wish has come true. Wiktoria is coming back!

The 20-year-old singer, known for her wild blonde curls, will compete at Melodifestivalen 2017 with the song “As I Lay Me Down”.

The song — written by Justin Forrest, Jonas Wallin and Lauren Dyson — will likely have shades of Wiktoria’s 2016 hit “Save Me,” as Wallin and Dyson also co-wrote that gem.

Given that then she placed second in the televote last year, it’s no wonder Wiktoria wanted the two of them again!

Wiktoria couldn’t hide her excitement as she talked to wiwibloggs at the artists’ presentation on Wednesday. “It feels good, it feels good,” she told us.

Speaking of her entry “As I Lay Me Down”, Wiktoria said: “It’s a pop song. It’s a bit like — it has the same feeling like ‘Save Me’, but you just wanna sing along, you wanna clap, you wanna dance. I love it! And I hope you guys will too.”

Last year Wiktoria’s rather complicated projection outfit meant she had to stand in place throughout her performance. Will she be able to move this year?

“I hope so! But we don’t know, we haven’t talked about it yet. We’ll see. It all depends on how we’re gonna do the show. We’re still talking about it so we don’t know yet, but it will be so much fun taking it up and just going through it.”

Wiktoria and Melodifestivalen Executive Producer Christer Björkman actually come from the same town — the relatively unknown Borås.

“My mum [knew him], actually, so that’s pretty funny. I didn’t. He’s like a celebrity in my hometown, ’cause it’s a small town, so everyone was like, ‘Christer Björkman’! So it’s fun.”

Wiktoria placed second in the televote and fourth overall at Melodifestivalen 2016. Do you think that this time she will have that little something that will take her to the throne? Let us know below in the comments section!

Oh. It’s going to be bland and generic then. Wiktoria: CANCELED.
