Lauri Yröla will compete in Finland’s Eurovision national final Uuden Musiikin Kilpailiu (UMK) 2017 with his song “Helppo elämä”. The song title translates as “easy life” and the song discusses the consequences of wanting such a life.
The song is also remarkable for containing the word “vastuuntunnottomuuden”. Fans are saying this might just be the longest word used in a Eurovision national final entry. The term roughly means “irresponsibility” and it’s used in a line promoting love and peace in place of irresponsibility.
“Helppo elämä” is the only wholly Finnish-language entry in UMK 2017. Non-Finnish fans have come out in support of the song, enjoying the sound of Lauri’s vocals combined with the edgy modern production of the song.
