Saara Aalto x factor odds to win

She’s the first X Factor contestant ever to land in the Bottom Two in Week One and then advance to the final.

And just hours ahead of tonight’s show, betmakers are growing more confident that Saara Aalto will win it all.

Every major British betting agency has her down as the odds-on favourite to win, with her odds hovering between 8/15 and 4/7.

Even more interesting is the fact her odds are narrowing further still, with Bet365, Bet Stars, Paddy Power and Betfair all listing her in blue (aka, she’s shortening).

The bookies believe that mustached Matt Terry — who will cover Jess Glynne’s “Take Me Home” tonight — poses the greatest challenge.

He remains the second favourite with odds hovering around 5/2.

But hours before the final his odds are widening, suggesting that bookies are less confident that he’ll slay the pack in Wembley Stadium.

5 After Midnight, who will cover Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”, are the least likely to win, with their odds generally hovering around 5/1.

In a post-Brexit world there are concerns that Finnish-born Saara will lose a few votes based on her nationality, and indeed there are fans campaigning against her with that in mind.

As BBC Newsbeat reports, that’s led her mentor Sharon Osbourne to speak out, labelling these people “ignorant”.

“It’s so small time,” she said. “It’s like saying you shouldn’t buy The Weekend’s album because he’s from Canada.”

Saara understands that she “was a bit like an outsider coming from Finland.” But it’s now clear that she’s won the public over, partly because of her emotional sing-offs.

Although she’s appeared in the Bottom Two on three occasions, all of her near-exits occurred in the first half of the show — in Weeks One, Two and Five.

Five After Midnight faced the sing-off in Week Eight, while Matt Terry faced it last week in Week Nine.

Tonight Saara will duet with American Idol star Adam Lambert on an undisclosed song, and she’ll also cover Tears For Fears’ 80s classic “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”.

How are YOU feeling with just hours to go? Do you think Saara can slay the Tears For Fears classic? Or will Matt Terry rise like a phoenix and surprise? Let us know in the comments box below.

None of us would’ve predicted her to make it so far. Whatever the outcome will be, she’ll definitely have an album out soon, and I’m excited about that.

@mad-professor: I don’t see Saara joining the cast of any Brit more than 20 year old soap that should have ended already …. but anyway. It will be a miracle for a non-UK-er to win anything British much less to be part of the British TV culture … and if she wins … Matt already has his own deal and start recording the album he would still even if he won … he’s the pop star here … she’s the feel-sorry-for-me-i’m-an-Eurovision-rejection of the edition who went from bottom to near the top cause the trick worked … or the show… Read more »

If she wins this, then I can totally see that polish Margaret girl with that Rihanna-esque song that made everybody here go crazy (as if Rihanna songs were the epicenter of music genius) go the same path … or maybe the Russian Grannies or that Ukrainian Serduska drag queen I never get the name right because … why should I? The X Factor always needs novelty act for the first six seven weeks so … why not … why not sending Eurovision joke “singers” to be in it too? What a crossover … Eurovision and X Factor … the world… Read more »

You can watch the show on https://www.filmon.com/tv/itv1 if you’re not in the UK, I’ve used the site to watch the ESC final with Graham’s commentary and to watch France 2 shows where Amir was involved – both had excellent picture quality. Even if you miss the show, the X Factor channel on YouTube will upload all the performances as soon as they’re available, and Anthony Ying’s channel is also a good place to check them out too

@J
Being the runner-up on X Factor is actually better: the winner generally goes on to be forgotten (or joins Coronation Street), whilst the runner-up usually has a career.

I am afraid that she will end up as the runner-up, just like in UMK 2016 and all the other talent shows… 🙁 Anyways, I will support her and I also found a way to vote for her from Germany!
