Marta Arcvik Armenia final depi

Depi Evratesil — Armenia’s three-month long competition to find a singer for Eurovision 2017 — has been full of drama and explosive performances. Thousands entered. But after the second live show, we’re down to just two acts — Marta and Artsvik.

The Grand Final of Depi Evratesil takes place on Christmas Eve and the ticket to Eurovision is waiting under the tree for one of these ladies. But who has what it takes to win and slay at Eurovision in Kyiv? You can vote for your favourite in our poll at the end of this post. But first let’s take a look at each of these lovely ladies…

Marta vs. Artsvik

Marta

You’ve come a long way, baby! She may have seemed a little awkward during the early stages, but she has definitely come into her own, morphing from nervous hopeful to a fully-fledged diva with ambition in her eyes.

Being on Team Anush helped Marta’s cause, as she was able to avoid duelling against some of the big names before the live shows. By the time the live shows rolled around, Marta was on top of her game and ready to fight. She slayed the televote in both shows and will be hoping for more of the same. Her performance of “Naughty Girl” in the first live show was arguably her best yet. Does she have more of that in her tank?

Marta is also the most versatile performer in the competition, bouncing between genres and languages like a kangaroo on steroids.

Her performance of “Siro Kamar” definitely showed us a different side — and one that we loved. Breathy, vulnerable and yet somehow powerful, her performance oozed emotion and drama, making it high impact despite the sometimes quiet melody.

Artsvik

Night and day, black and white, Marta and…Artsvik.

While Marta bounces between genres and shows off her versatility, Artsvik plays to her clear strength: the ballad. She became a favourite after winning the duels in a unanimous vote. Artsvik has rarely ventured out of her comfort zone, but she doesn’t need to. Vocally she has proven to be a class above the competition. Her performance of “Stand Up For Love” shows off those killer vocals.

It hasn’t been all ballads from Artsvik, though.

She took on “Don’t Make Me Crazy” during the live shows, suggesting she isn’t afraid to mix it up. That said, that performance was definitely overshadowed by her take on Polina Gagarina’s “Million Voices”.

The question that remains is whether she can win over the Armenian crowd and show her personality. Marta is killing it in this department and Artsvik must come off as more likeable…or she won’t get to Kyiv.

Artsvik is much better, i dont know either of them, but Artsvik has good voice at least, the repertoire can be altered. Armenia, please make right choice, we need good singers to win Eurovision!

Honestly I don’t care who’ll win. Of course Marta’s voice is way worse than Artsvik’s but I dislike them both! The juries and televoters are dumb af, they should take Egine and Hasmik to final not these. I think Depi Evratesil is sold and you will be sure that it is cause that untalented Marta will win 🙁

I don’t know what people see in Artsvik. She’s like a Celine trying to do Alicia Keys. She might have the voice, but it lacks soul for those type of songs. Her notes are so flat & very karaoke like. I hope they find a suitable song for her. Marta seems to have more versatility & performance. Either way, they should avoid a Samra-like lack of vocal talent. Unless they drown them in background vocals, lolz

all Armenia, all nation is with Artsvik! Idk who voted for Marta! what can she do?! Nothing! she hasnt even a good voice…..
#Artsvik is our last hope. maybe she is not DIVA like IVA but has a perfect voice/vocal, she is professional in the stage!
p.s. sorry but if Marta win it means Depi Evratesil is sold!

I think Armenia is going to choose Atsvik, give her a Demi Im style ballad where she can show-off her vocal capabilities and call it a day. I’m not sure though if she will be captivating enough for the European audience. Honestly, Egine despite her lack of vocals, was the best available choice for Armenia.

Either way, I wonder if Armenia doesn’t succeed in Kiev, whether or not they will keep the project going or will cancel it?

I’d pick hasmik she was the best i think they really have to fix this broken system of eliminating 1 out of 2 good singers and letting pass 1 out of two not so quality singers and maybe not including jury member that aren’t capable of a just judgment

To be honest they both don’t deserve to represent Armenia as there are a lot intesting singers who deserved tickets to Kiev. Reincarnation band, Ani Christy, Suren Arustamyan, Vigen Hovsepyan, Srbuhi Sargsyan (Srbuk) etc these are names who who shold be chosen internally!
As for these 2 ladies: Artsvik is very boring and 90s for my taste! I prefer Martha !

Its obvious that if Marta will be chosen she d sing sth with high notes and boring tunes. But if it d be Marta it will be sth banger and naughty. I have to admit that i love the naughty ones better in general. Anything u choose, may the luck be with u. Kisses from your Turkish neighbours <3

I like Marta because, as you said, she shows her personality but why can’t anyone see that she can’t even sing proper English. When she sang rhythm inside, which was btw awful, she kept pronouncing “rhythm” as “ritual”. She absolutely ruined a great song.

They would definitely both make the final with a good song, but Artsvik is my favorite since the start and is more up my street. Love both but voted for Artsvik

I would go with Artsvik, cos Marta and Donald Trump seem to be using the same tanning salon …. Doritos.

Doesn’t really matter: as usual the winner will get 12 points from the Armenian diaspor… Euh sorry, the televoters of France, Belgium, Netherlands, etc., and the sympathy of the Russian jury. Whoever wins has a 99% chance of finishing top 10 not because of their song or talent, but because of political voting.

I’ve stopped watching for now but does Marta still have her foundation a hundred shades lighter than her skin? It seems like she does. She’s pretty great but people shouldn’t let her out like that.

i love both so much aaaaaaa can’t pick
artsvik is the safer choice and would probably have the stronger song but marta is such an ingenious performer and nobody expected she would make it this far

If it’s not too late, can we pick Hasmik? Heh, just kiddin’ (although, her version of Sweet Lovin’ is still my favourite!)

Artsvik, by far. Better singer, more likeability, better English – pretty much has the package there whilst Marta is missing a few things.
