chase a dal 2017

We’re just over a week away from the first heat of Hungary’s national selection show A Dal 2017, but there has already been an early exit before the show has even begun.

Jetlag were set to perform their entry “Keresem a bajt”, but the band has now been grounded. They have been disqualified from the competition after they had issues with Hungarian broadcaster, MTVA. Jetlag were unable to settle an agreement with MTVA over strict rules regarding the scheduling of the shows, despite being approached by the broadcaster several times.

As a result, Chase will now be competing in this year’s competition. Chase was the entry who finished 31st on the preselection jury. He will be performing “Dust In The Wind”, which you can see below. The song was composed by Dániel Somogyvári and Johnny K. Palmer. Johnny also wrote the lyrics alongside David Henderson.

Whilst Chase may have been so low down on the preselection jury’s list, that might not be the case in the show itself. With the public and jury vote expected to once again form the results of the show, he could still make it through. Only time will tell though, as MTVA still are yet to reveal full details of the show’s production.

Chase — real name Csipo Koppany — recently took part in X Factor Hungary, where he also failed to make it past the auditions. He’s been given a third chance now, so let’s hope that for his sake it’s third time lucky!

What do you think of Chase’s “Dust in the Wind”? Do you think it’s a better entry than Jetlag? Let us know in the comments section below!

This is my favourite. Not sure if he has a chance at Dal but sure at the Eurovision itself. Hope he will one day sing in London. Otherwise, I think is time to book the tickets to see him in Hungary. The song is to smooth to be true. At first, I couldn’t stand that. But after few listens is just angelic.

@StianF – I agree. MF has some good songs. But is also very overrated among fans. Too much kitsch showwise. Too many samey simple songs.

A Dal is so much better. It’s a music program. Rather than a music show. With great entries, lots of musical diversity and mostly quite modern songs

NEWS!

Szabyest is disqualified from A Dal 2017, because he performed his song ‘Szerelem kell’ before September 1st, 2016. He is replaced by Rocktenors with their song ‘?sz’ translated as Autumn

Now that’s random. You listened to the song? I mean what??? Very good looking however, so I guess that justifies the song.

I’m Swedish and if you think that A Dal is a “weak” national selection and that Mello is clearly the best one then wowwww… something is wrong

Song’s good but pretty basic. To a native speaker using words like “alchemy” and “sorcery” in this type of song seems a bit extra and try-hard (but that could just be me lol). It won’t win A Dal, that honor will probably be Hosszú Id?k, Got to be a Day, or Frozen king.

Who do you think is the best A Dal song this year? I wasnt to have a winner for every selection, This is what I have so far:

Malta: Brooke Borg- Golden
Georgia: Nino Basharuli- Lileo
Finland: Emma- Circle Of Light
Estonia: Elina Born or Ariadne, it’s hard.

@WTF melfest has produced two winners. two third place finishers. And another top 5 finish fro sweden in the last 6 years. Not sure how you can call that “overrated.”

@WTF

Exactly. Anyone who has a different opinion from yours is deluded.

@Stian F: Only the typically deluded eurofan crowd actually considers Melfest this “holy grail” of NF’s. They can’t help but w@nk all over the Melfest hype every single season. Blatantly overrated, especially when it wasn’t even a top 3 selection in terms of quality (as far as ESC goes, at least) last year.

I don’t get the hype with A Dal, it’s a very weak and boring selection. Having said that, this is one of the very few good songs.

This one came 31st i the pre-rounds? OMG there are so many good songs in Hungary!!!! I love MOST of the songs of this years A Dal!!! Amazing! I like this one a lot as well, its nothing extrordinary, but its much better than a lot that takes part in for example Melodifestivalen 🙂 And UK could only dream of coming up With a song like this for Eurovision 🙂
